Hermann Flohn was a German meteorologist known for his contributions to the
understanding of atmospheric circulation and climate change.
Edmond Halley was an English astronomer and meteorologist. He is known for his
pioneering work in various scientific fields, including his explanation of trade winds and
monsoons based on thermal concepts. Halley proposed that the differential heating of the
Earth's surface causes the seasonal reversal of winds, which is a fundamental aspect of the
monsoon.
George Hadley is known for his work on trade winds. He developed the Hadley cell theory,
which explains the large-scale atmospheric circulation patterns. His work is important in
understanding atmospheric dynamics.
P. Koteswaram was an Indian meteorologist who made significant contributions to the study of monsoons and tropical meteorology. He conducted extensive research on the monsoon, particularly in India, but he is not credited with the original thermal concept of monsoons.

respect to the main survey lines
