Today's CPI data release at 13:30 GMT is expected to create short-term opportunities for instant gains in the gold market. The main focus will be on Core CPI (Month-over-Month) and CPI (Year-over-Year). Here are the two scenarios to watch out for:

- Scenario 1: GOLD Bullish & DXY Bearish
If Core CPI is below 0.3% and CPI (YoY) is below 2.5%, gold is likely to experience a bullish trend, while the US Dollar Index (DXY) may decline ¹.

- Scenario 2: GOLD Bearish & DXY Bullish
Conversely, if Core CPI exceeds 0.3% and CPI (YoY) surpasses 2.6%, gold may enter a bearish phase, with the DXY potentially rising [2).

In the last three consecutive weeks, gold prices plummeted from $2790 to $2590, representing a 9.2% correction. Although the current bias is bearish, buying with calculated risk is advisable if gold falls deeply and reaches a strong support zone.
