WHAT'S HAPPENED WITH YOUTUBE?
In the last few months YouTube has been more and more restrictive. In the past, YouTube had only IP-based restrictions, and we found a workaround for that. But things changed; as of today, downloading from YouTube requires, in most cases, a Google account login.
What's the problem then?๐
"Just use a random Google account", you'd say. Well, that's what we did since 3.0 release. The problem is that with all the downloads that the bot has to face, Google accounts we provide don't last very much. After a few hours, the account gets permanently banned. We tried to rotate accounts after ban, but buying dedicated Google accounts only for that is something that we can't afford yet.
"But this unknown site/bot can still download from YouTube"๐
This is obvious. There are two possible reasons: 1) the service in question has workarounds to avoid such restrictions or 2) they don't have the same load as us, which is incredibly high, especially for YouTube.
What we'd do then?๐ค
At the moment, downloading from YouTube is disabled. Later today, we'll enable it again, but only for our PROโญ๏ธ users. This will dramatically reduce the download load, and allow our supporters to continue using the service they paid for.
Don't worry, we'll constantly work to bring back your beloved service, meanwhile you can download from all other services๐ฅฐ
