US stocks were mixed after the close on Monday, as gains in the Technology, Consumer Goods and Consumer Services sectors led shares higher while losses in the Utilities, Telecoms and Financials sectors led shares lower. At the close in NYSE, the Dow Jones Industrial Average lost 0.29%, while the S&P 500 index added 0.24%, and the NASDAQ Composite index added 0.96%. Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the New York Stock Exchange by 1,600 to 1,199 and 93 ended unchanged; on the Nasdaq Stock Exchange, 1,731 rose and 1,600 declined, while 94 ended unchanged.
