There is 2715 already another sell off of 100 points since this mornings analysis.

We could expect some support between 2710 and 2715.

XAUUSD H1

Sell zone discussed at $2,740/oz held nicely, we wanted to snipe as close to that whole number as possible, slight amendment from the analysis posted yesterday, typically looking at stops with a minimum of 50 points with XAUUSD as we typically do.

Looking for a little bit more of the same here today on XAUUSD, we are trending nicely on the hourly timeframe, hopefully we can trade in the reals of $2,715/oz or thereabouts to close the week.

📈Good morning. European Central Bank members debate the scope of interest rate moves. US Secretary of State Antony Blinken is renewing efforts to end the Gaza conflict. And City of London firms are reporting a surge in bullying and harassment.

🇪🇺A slew of ECB speakers talked about where they see borrowing costs headed. Bank of Latvia Governor Martins Kazaks said the central bank shouldn’t hold rates at high levels for too long. Governing Council member Madis Muller prefers to stick to a “measured pace” of easing, while National Bank of Belgium Governor Pierre Wunsch said it’s far too early to start considering a half-point cut. The ECB’s Chief Economist Philip Lane said service-sector inflation is likely to moderate.

Mideast latest: US Secretary of State Antony Blinken is pushing for a Gaza settlement as negotiators prepare to meet, with Israel and Hamas accusing each other of inflexibility. Meanwhile, the State Department has issued a warning over protests planned for Friday at Israeli and US embassies and other sites around the world. Israel’s central bank chief Amir Yaron expects the nation’s multi-front conflict to continue until early next year. And oil prices steadied after a two-day drop.

🇨🇭Switzerland’s efforts to forge closer links with the European Union are going to prove a hard sell with voters, a survey showed, with about half of those polled skeptical about the bloc. If talks between Swiss and EU officials on a revamp of bilateral relations succeed, that will have to be put to the nation in a referendum. While the Swiss see advantages from access to the EU market, they don’t buy into the idea of a union of common values.

🇬🇧UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer said that Britons who get a majority of their income from from assets don’t count as “working people,” suggesting he’s willing to raise taxes on investors. With budget day approaching, the UK economy has stuttered with its slowest growth for almost a year and consumer confidence edged down this month.

🇷🇺Vladimir Putin said military relations with North Korea are “our business” as he avoided answering whether Pyongyang had sent troops to Russia. “We have never doubted that the North Korean leadership treats the agreement seriously,” he said, referencing the defense accord signed with leader Kim Jong Un in June. Ukraine’s military intelligence said on Telegram that the first units of North Korean troops had passed through training drills in Russia.

🇬🇧Good morning. The Bank of England’s governor says inflation is cooling faster than expected. Tesla delivers blowout earnings. And the Premier League is facing unprecedented regulation.

🇬🇧UK inflation is cooling faster than officials had anticipated, according to Bank of England Governor Andrew Bailey. It’s the latest hint the central bank may continue lowering rates next month. Policy board member Megan Greene said this week that she still favored a gradual approach to easing policy.

🇪🇺At the European Central Bank, Fabio Panetta said the euro zone’s recent inflation slowdown and its weakening economy call for further rate reductions, while Robert Holzmann said a quarter-percentage point rate cut was probable in December.

🇬🇧British Prime Minister Keir Starmer said there’s no reason for entrepreneurs to leave the country, even as Chancellor Rachel Reeves studies proposals to raise taxes on the wealthy, property, inheritance and pensions in her budget next week.

Tesla delivered a blowout quarterly earnings report, sending its shares soaring postmarket. Elon Musk promised 20-30% delivery growth next year and announced plans for ridesharing in Texas and California. Musk’s promises are teeing up a high-stakes 2025, according to Bloomberg columnist Liam Denning. The billionaire also used the earnings call to tout what he would do with a potential job in a Trump administration.

In deals news, Transocean is in talks to merge with rival offshore drilling contractor Seadrill, just as oil explorers around the world are returning to the sea. Germany’s Siemens is discussing a potential deal to buy software maker Altair Engineering in what would be one of its largest-ever acquisitions.

US30 H8

Looks like this 42,300 price was the zone to trade from long yesterday, we always say, don’t try and catch a falling knife, but we often see these moves being far supreme to many others. Higher reward potential and one sided corrective markets. That being said, you open up yourself to potential quick losses, which can lead to revenge trading and doubling down. It’s a type of trading strategy which requires discipline and emotional control.

We have this 42,300 support price in our crosshairs, it may be something we look to jump on as US data drops and the US stock market opens. Expecting some big moves again as we have both data and volume for the market open later on. We aren’t too interested in what’s going on short term, more-so planning for later.

XAUUSD H1

Similar plan here for XAUUSD and we have for US30 and NAS100 we have just shared. We had seen some monster moves yesterday, gold moving as much as 500 points which is insane, trading from $2760/oz down to south of $2710/oz. We have already seen healthy corrections, almost 50% of the move we saw swing short yesterday.

The zone in question sits at around $2740/oz. A nice area of H8 supply, resistance and whole number territory. This is where we would be looking for potential shorts and continuations of yesterdays moves, again lots of data to fuel markets, and also stock market open an hour later. So it’s certainly worth observing until these events pass.

There is the retest on US30, before dumping as expected, healthy 300 points today from US30. TEXTBOOK TRADING!

US30 in the members channel playing out like poetry 🔥🔥

US30 H1

Exactly what we were looking for and expecting on US30, this pair is really the only pair that has responded so far during today’s trading session(s). US stock market open in a little under 20 minutes time. Expecting some volatility and whipsaw action. I wouldn’t be surprised if we trade back up at 43,300 price before selling off again.

That being said, it would be nice to see a downside continuation, simply trending hourly environments, locking in profits and following SL accordingly. Let’s see what the session open brings!

US30 H1

Whilst we are trading at such a high price here on the likes of US30, targeting upside profit targets remains almost impossible, we mentioned this on our IG post yesterday on XAUUSD. When price hasn’t been to a certain level, volatility becomes wild, we can’t measure how much higher the setup may take us, but we often see big market dumps/corrections which many of us can measure and capitalise on.

We have seen one here on US30 just last week, where we dump 300 points and correct 300 points within a 6 hour period. These are the rewarding moves we are looking for, trailing stops, accepting high risk and potential quick losses, but being okay with this, understanding the reward potential outweighs the risk.

GBPUSD H8

We broke slightly south of our 1.30 handle and psychological price late last week, that being said, it was fairly minor, merely just 30 points. We have now adjusted our entry price and SL positioning in the case this setup wants to attempt to break higher. We have an attractive area of support and demand, mixed with the previously mentioned confluences.

Not a great deal of data out today, so maybe it’s worth monitoring these trading zones and prices and waiting until the volume really starts to drive in. DXY approaching that 104.000 number, this is where we would expect rejections and therefore GBPUSD to climb higher, but in the interim, this may lead GPBUSD to trade south of 1.30 again in the short term. Let’s see what unfolds, but this is certainly on the watchlist this week.

GBPJPY H4

We have made a slight adjustment to or trading zone here on GBPJPY. Moving the zone from 195 psychological price, up 60 points to around 195.600. Slight adjustments to accommodate for the recent high press attempts. Supply and resistance no doubt evident on this 195.600 price, stops now covering recent wick high prices of 196.100, with a breathing space of 5-10 points.

We are ranging really nicely here, whilst stops may seem quite large, this is a fast moving pair, and the profit target it also large. This pair has been moving 100’s of points in very quick succession over the past few weeks. The range measures a healthy 200-250 points until support price/TP target.

📈Good morning. Israel attacks Hezbollah’s economic strongholds. The UK tax office is clawing back cash from struggling companies. And Saudi Arabia is planning the world’s biggest building.

🇮🇱Israel launched a military operation targeting Hesbulla economic locations in Lebanon, including a financial institution used by the group. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is mulling Israel’s next attack on Iran, after a Hezbollah drone exploded near its home.

🇬🇧The UK tax office is taking a tougher approach to clawing back debt from collapsing businesses, people familiar said. The moves are said to have had a chilling effect on the availability of credit to save firms. Also from the UK: Chancellor of the Exchequer Rachel Reeves will set aside billions of pounds for the National Health Service in her budget next week, the Times reported.

🇬🇧Ireland’s Prime Minister Simon Harris told reporters that he expects the country’s general election will be held before the end of the year, confirming for the first time that there will be an early vote after months of speculation.

🇺🇸US elections: Kamala Harris and Donald Trump’s campaigns both fought for votes door by door in the swing state of Pennsylvania. Trump manned the counter at a Philadelphia McDonald’s. 

Elon Musk said his political action committee will give away $1m dollars daily to a signatory of a petition calling for free speech and the right to bear arms.

🇺🇸The S&P 500 will approach 6,000 by year-end, according to a Bloomberg MLIV Pulse survey. Three quarters of respondents expect this earnings season to give the benchmark a boost, and they believe company reports will be even more influential that wins  the US election or the Fed’s policy path.

🚀Gold topped $2,700 an ounce for the first time, as an escalating conflict in the Middle East saw traders flock to safety. Bullion is up an eye-watering 30% this year, putting it on track for its best annual run in decades. We recently talked about its allure in a Wealth explainer about how to invest.

🇬🇧UK bankers may get their bonuses years sooner, pocketing some of the cash immediately and no longer being forced to wait more than five years for full payouts. Top banks had pushed hard for the changes to clawback rules (among the strictest in the world) that were put into effect after the global financial crisis to discourage excessive risk taking.

🇬🇧Staying with the UK, businesses remain way of Labour even after its aggressive charm offensive. The new government is yet to convert the corporate support it attracted during this summer’s election into a more solid working relationship, according to business figures who have dealt with them in power. Businesses have warned PM Keir Starmer about raising employer payroll tax ahead of the administration’s first budget

🇮🇱Israeli soldiers killed Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar, the architect of the Oct. 7 attack, in southern Gaza. Joe Biden and Kamala Harris both framed the death is a chance to end the conflict, but Benjamin Netanyahu said it isn’t over. Khalil al-Hayya, who’s been leading indirect negotiations with Israel, is seen as one option to take over Hamas. Biden will send Antony Blinken to Israel as part of efforts to end the war. 🇨🇳China data dump. GDP data offered a mixed picture and underscored the need for stimulus. The economic expansion slowed in the third quarter despite tentative signs of improvement last month, while reports on industrial production and retail sales beat expectations. The largest state-owned lenders cut their deposit rates, and the People’s Bank of China has invited major credit-rating companies to a meeting to discuss the development of—and problems with—their industry.
