Be aware that there is a group of people going door to door pretending to be internal affairs employees. they have documents and letterhead from the Ministry of the Interior and claim they need to check that everyone has valid ID for the next census and then 'they rob. They are everywhere and look stylish. someone will come to your house and say I want to take your photo/fingerprint. According to one diagram, they have a laptop, a biometric device and a list of all names. They show the list and ask for all this information. know that there is no initiative on the part of the government. Know that this is all false. Don't give them any information. Everyone must be vigilant and aware. Send it to all groups in your community. Please inform your family and friends.

♦️Dear All,

🔰Re-sitting a course means rewriting a subject that you failed during a semester. You can resit a paper only if you received an 'E' or 'F' grade in that particular subject. In some cases, you may choose not to resit a paper if you received an 'E.' However, it's essential to keep in mind that having a significant number of 'Es' in your transcript at the University of Ghana may not be acceptable, as long as the total number of 'Es' and 'Fs' doesn't exceed 16 credit hours (5 or 6 'Es').

*WHAT IS MAIN RE-SIT?*
🔰Main re-sit allows you to rewrite a failed paper during the same semester when you initially failed it, along with the current students taking the same course. When a student registers for main re-sit, they participate in Interim Assessments (I.As), assignments, quizzes, and final exams, if applicable. All of these components contribute to the final grade.

🚨 The portal for main re-sit for the first semester is currently open and will close on November 15, 2024.
Please note that you can only register for the main re-sit if you have remaining credit hours after registering your courses for the semester.

*WHAT IS SUPPLEMENTARY RE-SIT?*
Supplementary re-sit provides the opportunity to rewrite a failed paper during a vacation period. In supplementary re-sit, students do not participate in Interim Assessments (I.As), quizzes, or assignments. The sole factor considered for grading is the final exam score.

🚨 The portal for supplementary re-sit will be open from Monday, December 9, 2024, to Friday, December 13, 2024.
Importantly, you can register for supplementary re-sit even if you do not have extra credit hours remaining after completing your course registrations for the semester.

As we transition to the upgraded Sakai LMS, please note the following important details to ensure a smooth experience:

*🔰Login details:* Logging in to the new Sakai LMS instance will require your current MIS web (ITS) credentials i.e. your staff/student ID and your current PIN. Any change in PIN on the old and archived LMS will not work. You must use the current PIN to login then you can proceed to change your PIN on Sakai. 

*🔰URLs for accessing Sakai:* While you will be able to access and login to the Sakai LMS instance via its url https://sakai.ug.edu.gh.  Note that this  new version of the Sakai LMS will only contain courses for this current Academic Year and semester i.e. First Semester 2024/2025 Academic Year. 

*🔰Access to Archived Data:* The archived Sakai site (https://old-sakai.ug.edu.gh/portal) is available solely for viewing or exporting data to the current system. Additional documentation will be provided with instructions for exporting and importing data 

*🔰Invalid accounts:* Some users may encounter issues when accessing or logging in to the new Sakai LMS instance. If you experience such issues, please submit a request for account creation  using[email protected]

*🔰Turnitin Access:* Upon first login, users will not have automatic access to the Turnitin Course Site “RCOMM 100” for checking the Similarity Index of their work. 🔰The University Community is hereby informed of new controls that have been activated for the effective operation of the *electronic access points at the Traditional Halls and ITD*
 
*♦️Activation of Anti-Pass-Back on Electronic Access*

A. A patron of the electronic access can use their UG-activated ID cards once in each direction. If a patron uses their UG-activated ID card more than once in each direction, the card will be automatically blocked for 30 minutes and automatically enabled after that. If the card is blocked in one facility, it is blocked everywhere else, until it is re-enabled. If a patron gains access into a facility using the UG-enabled ID card, the patron must exit the facility using the same card before the card can be used anywhere else.
 
B. Patrons of the electronic access will need their UG ID cards to access electronic access installations. Members of the University community are encouraged to follow up on their UG ID cards.
 
C. An activated UG card can gain access once, in each direction, i.e., except for the hall assistants; no one else can use their UG ID card to access electronic access multiple times in each direction. This control prevents patrons from providing access to the electronic access installations for other users.
 
D. Hall assistants can assist visitors and persons without UG access cards based on the facility rules which will be communicated to the community shortly.
