Binance P2P is now full of Scams
I've encountered a situation where on August 14th, I received a payment on Binance P2P Exchange from person named Deepak. Strangely, the same amount got hold on August 27, and I initially thought it was a KYC issue. When I inquired with the bank manager via call, he mentioned I needed to submit my Aadhar card. Due to being in another city, I ignored it.
Later, on September 27, my account was frozen without notice. I visited my home branch, submitted all KYC details, and they assured me that the account would be reinstated after a day.
Considering subsequent days were holidays, I had my family member contact the branch today, October 4.
Digging into the transaction, it occurred on Binance P2P, a crypto exchange. The buyer who purchased USDT from me turned out to have used fraudulent money, likely scammed from someone else. The victim of the scam filed a complaint with the cyber cell, leading to the freezing of my account.
This scam appears to be quite common in India. A quick Google search on "Binance P2P Bank Account Freeze Scam" revealed similar incidents.
