ऐसे सुख खोजना जो निजी हैं। और ऐसे बहुत सुख हैं जो निजी हैं। वस्तुतः वे ही सुख हैं। क्योंकि दूसरे को दुखी कर कैसे सुखी होओगे? कैसे सुखी हो सकते हो? पूरे वक्त पीड़ा भीतर बनी रहेगी कि दूसरे को दुख दिया है, बदला आता होगा, प्रतिकार होकर रहेगा, दूसरा भी क्षमा तो नहीं कर देगा।

इसलिए बुद्ध कहते हैं, वैर-चक्र पैदा हो जाता है; विशियस सर्किल पैदा हो जाता है, दुष्ट-चक्र पैदा हो जाता है। तुम दूसरे को दुख देते हो, दूसरा तुम्हें दुख देने को आतुर हो जाता है। फिर इस श्रृंखला का कहीं कोई अंत नहीं है।

महासुख के लिए अल्प को छोड़ देना, बड़े के लिए छोटे को छोड़ देना, शाश्वत के लिए क्षणभंगुर को छोड़ देना; और ऐसा सुख खोजना जो तुम्हारा अपना हो, जिसके लिए दूसरे पर निर्भर नहीं होना पड़ता है, तब तुम स्वतंत्र हो गए। यही मुक्त जीवन की आधारशिला है।

ओशो…..

मैं एक गांव में ठहरा हुआ था। उस रात उस गांव में एक बड़ी अनूठी घटना घट गयी, फिर मैं उसे भूल न सका। छोटा गांव, बस एक ही ट्रेन आती और एक ही ट्रेन जाती, तो दो बार स्टेशन पर चहल-पहल होती। आने वाली टे्रन दिन को बारह बजे आती, जाने वाली ट्रेन रात को दो बजे। स्टेशन पर भी कुछ ज्यादा लोग नहीं हैं--एक स्टेशन मास्टर है, एकाध पोर्टर है, एकाध और आदमी क्लर्क है। कोई ज्यादा यात्री आते-जाते भी नहीं हैं।

उस रात ऐसा हुआ कि एक आदमी रात की गाड़ी पकड़ने के लिए सांझ स्टेशन पर आया। वह बार-बार अपने बैग में देख लेता था। स्टेशन मास्टर को संदेह हुआ, शक हुआ कि कुछ बड़ा धन लिए हुए है। वह अपने बैग को भी दबाए था, एक क्षण को भी उसे छोड़ता नहीं था। आदमी देखने से भी धनी मालूम पड़ता था। रात दो बजे ट्रेन जाएगी। मन में बुराई आयी। उसने पोर्टर को बुलाकर कहा कि ऐसा कर, दो बजे रात तक कहीं भी इसकी जरा भी झपकी लग जाए--और आठ बजे रात के बाद तो गांव में सन्नाटा हो जाता है, गांव भी कोई दो मील दूर--इसको खतम करना है।

पोर्टर ने कुल्हाड़ी ले ली और वह घूमता रहा कि यह कब सो जाए। मगर वह भी आदमी जागा रहा, जागा रहा, जागा रहा। पोर्टर को झपकी आ गयी। और जब पोर्टर को झपकी आ गयी तो वह आदमी जिस बेंच पर बैठा था उससे उठकर, उसको नींद आने लगी थी तो अपना बैग लेकर वह टहलने लगा प्लेटफार्म पर। इस बीच स्टेशन मास्टर आकर उस बेंच पर लेट गया, जिस पर वह धनी लेटा था। पोर्टर की आंख खुली, देखा कि सो गया, उसने आकर गर्दन अलग कर दी। स्टेशन मास्टर मारा गया। सुबह गांव में खबर आयी। मैं उसे भूल नहीं सका उस घटना को। इंतजाम उसी ने किया था, मारा खुद ही गया।

जीवन में करीब-करीब ऐसा ही हो रहा है। जो दुख तुमने दूसरों को दिए हैं, वे लौट आएंगे। जो सुख तुमने दूसरों को दिए हैं, वे भी लौट आएंगे। दुख भी हजारगुने होकर लौट आते हैं, सुख भी हजारगुने होकर लौट आते हैं।

इसलिए बुद्ध कहते हैं, दूसरा सूत्र याद रखना, सुख बन सके तो दे देना; अगर सुख न दे सको, तो कम से कम दुख मत देना। दूसरों को दुख मत देना। अपना सुख ऐसा बनाना कि तुम पर ही निर्भर हो, दूसरे के दुख पर निर्भर न हो।

फर्क समझो।
एक आदमी धन के इकट्ठे करने में सुख लेता है। निश्चित ही यह कई लोगों का धन छीनेगा। बिना धन छीने धन आएगा भी कहां से? धन बहुत बहुलता से है भी नहीं, न्यून है। धन ऐसा पड़ा भी नहीं चारों तरफ। जितने लोग हैं, उनसे धन बहुत कम है। तो धन छीनेगा तो धन इकट्ठा कर पाएगा। यह आदमी दूसरों को दुख दिए बिना धनी न हो सकेगा। और धन पाने से जो सुख मिलने वाला है, दो कौड़ी का है। और जितना दुख दिया है, उसके जो दुष्परिणाम होंगे, अनंत समय तक उसकी जो प्रतिक्रियाएं होंगी, वे बहुत भयंकर हैं।

एक दूसरा आदमी ध्यान में सुख लेता है। ध्यान और धन में यही खूबी है। ध्यान जब तुम करते हो तो तुम किसी का ध्यान नहीं छीनते। तुम्हारा ध्यान बढ़ता जाता है, किसी का ध्यान छिनता नहीं।

तो बुद्ध कहेंगे, अगर ध्यान और धन में चुनना हो तो ध्यान चुनना, यह अप्रतियोगी है, इसकी किसी से कोई स्पर्धा नहीं है। और तुम्हारा आनंद बढ़ता जाएगा। और आश्चर्य की बात यह है कि तुम जितने आनंदित होते जाओगे, अनायास तुम दूसरों को भी आनंद देने में सफल होने लगोगे, समर्थ होने लगोगे।

जो है, उसे हम बांटते हैं। दुखी आदमी दुख देता है, सुखी आदमी सुख देता है--देना ही पड़ेगा। जब फूल खिलेगा और गंध निकलेगी तो हवाओं में बहेगी ही। जब तुम्हारा ध्यान सघनीभूत होगा, तो तुम्हारे चारों तरफ गंध उठेगी। सुख दोगे तो सुख मिलेगा। ऐसा सुख खोजना जो किसी के दुख पर आधारित न होता हो, यही बुद्ध की मौलिक शिक्षा है।

और फिर अल्प भी सुख मिले आज, अल्प भी शायद छोड़ना पड़े कल के महासुख के लिए, तो उसे भी छोड़ देना। अल्प मिले तो अल्प ले लेना, अल्प छोड़ना पड़े तो छोड़ देना, मगर एक खयाल रखना--जीवन का पूरा विस्तार खयाल रखना। चीजें एक-दूसरे से संयुक्त हैं। अंतिम परिणाम क्या होगा, उस पर ध्यान रहे। और ऐसा सुख कमाना, जो तुम्हारा अपना हो, जिसके लिए दूसरे को दुखी नहीं करना पड़ता है।

अब एक आदमी को राजनेता बनना है, तो उसे दूसरों को दुखी करना होगा। अब इंदिरा और मोरारजी दोनों साथ-साथ सुखी नहीं हो सकते, इसका कोई उपाय नहीं है। कोई न कोई दुखी होगा।

तो बुद्ध कहते हैं, ऐसी दिशा में मत जाना, जहां किसी को बिना दुखी किए तुम सुखी हो ही न सको। हजार और उपाय हैं जीवन में आनंदित होने के।

अब एक आदमी बांसुरी बजाता हो, तो इससे किसी का कुछ लेना-देना नहीं है, यह अपने एकांत में बैठकर बांसुरी बजा सकता है। एक आदमी नाचता हो, यह एकांत में नाच सकता है। एक आदमी ध्यान करता हो, यह एकांत में ध्यान कर सकता है, इसका किसी से कुछ लेना-देना नहीं है।

Lot of students have this same question, if you validity is expiring in March 2025 then if you increase validity it will expire in March 2027 BUT please note that I wish to retire on 31st December 2026. So please extend validity accordingly, In fact I would have retired on 31st December 2025 but due to some personal reasons I extended it by one year.
