We are excited to announce our new name: SPE Northern Iraq Section, formerly known as the Erbil Section. This new identity reflects our growth and the expanding scope of our section while continuing to honor the important role of our community.
We understand that some may feel that the name should have been Kurdistan Region Section, and we value and respect that sentiment deeply. Kurdistan is the heart of our section, and we proudly support the 10 active university chapters in the region that are thriving and growing stronger every day. 🌟
The decision to adopt "Northern Iraq" is a strategic one that allows us to better align with our goals of inclusivity and cooperation across all the areas we serve. It opens new doors for regional collaboration while strengthening our presence and impact in the broader industry.
Our focus remains unchanged: we are committed to advancing the oil and gas industry, fostering knowledge exchange, and providing opportunities for all professionals and students in the Kurdistan Region and beyond.
