I understand your frustrations, and I sympathize with you if you're unable to afford the shortcoming fee to get a med bed appointment. Unfortunately, we all know how challenging the world can be.
The recent news was indeed heartbreaking and unexpected. I have consistently informed everyone that the arrival of med beds would be completely free of charge. However, things did not go as planned. I'm sure you understand that certain organizations and governments would do anything to control the rollout of such advanced technology.
As a result, the med bed organization has had to operate in secrecy and charge a registration fee. This is the only fee patients will incur, regardless of how many times they use different med beds.
The Galactic Federation had to take action to get the med beds to the sick people who need them, rather than wait for everything to be settled before making the med beds available for free. This approach prevents innocent people from losing their lives to various illnesses.
