rice case 10%discount and 800gm weight then
sp/cp=[90/100][1000/800]=9/8
and wheat case 5% discount and 900 weight
then sp/cp=[95/100][1000/900]=19/18
but cp1:cp2=1;2
so rice cp:sp=81:72
and wheat cp:sp=152/144
total cp=72+144=216
total sp=81+152=233
p%=[17/216]100=7.87 aapprx

A shopkeeper offers a discount of 10% on rice and 5% on wheat and claims to offer these discount on the cost price. If the customer buys equal amounts of rice and wheat and ratio of cost prices of rice and wheat is 1:2, what is the total profit percentage of the shopkeeper if he uses a weight of 800gm for 1kg in case of rice and 900 gm for 1 kg in case of wheat?

80/1.25= 64

A---> 2x and B----> x

20% of both lost in transit...

To compensate for the same, price will be hiked by 25% for no profit no loss ..

2x---> 2.5x and x----> 1.4x+ 25% ie 1.75x (40% profit for wholesaler)

Cost of mixture for no profit no loss will be 2x (2:1)

Hence 2x= 64

Let say Cost Prices are  A   &  B

Selling Price = 3S  &  5S

Profit = (16.25/100)A = 0.1625A

A + 0.1625A  = 3S

=> 1.1625A = 3S

Profit  = 0.1625A

Profit = (16.25/100)5S = 0.8125S

B  + 0.8125S  = 5S

=> B =  4.1875 S

difference in the profits earned being Rs 585

0.8125S - 0.1625A = 585

=> 0.8125S - 0.1625(3S/1.1625) = 585

=> 0.8125S - 0.1625(3S/1.1625) = 585

=> S = 1488

Difference in sale price = 5S - 3S = 2S

2S = 2 * 1488 = 2976

difference between selling price of goods = Rs 2976

5x*13/80-3x*13/93=585
X=3*16*31
2x=2976

13  80*93*5
13*15—-585
1—3
3*31*16(5-3) = 2976

X(1+p%)=0.84X+1680

[2X+2000](1+p%)=11200

112 divisible by = 16 , 14

Indicates profit could be 60% or 40%

Considering 60% first .......

2X+2K = 7K , X = 2500

Checking ....

2500(1.6)=2100+1680
4000  ≠ 3780

__××

Checking 40% .......

112/1.4=8000 , X = 3000

3000×1.4=2520+1680=4200
4200 = 4200 (Satisfied)

2X+2000=8000

Let CP per kg=100
Then sp=(100-x)*2
Profit=[100-2x](initial)
Now sp of (500)*(1+1/8)==500*9/8==45/80=9/16
[(100-x)*16/9]-100=3/4*(100-2x)
{(1600-16x)-900}*4=27(100-2x)

A shopkeeper sold a chair and a table. The shopkeeper earned Rs. 48 more profit on table than the profit earned on chair. The ratio of the cost price of the chair and the table was 9 : 8 respectively. The discount given on table was 4% less than the discount given on chair. The marked price of table and chair were Rs. 1600 and Rs. 1800 respectively. If the shopkeeper marked the price of chair (13 + b) % more than the cost price of chair, where 'b' is the discount given on chair, then find the profit earned on chair.

x(1 + p/100) = (21/25)•(x + 2000)

Also (2x + 2000)•(1 + p/100) = 11200

=> (2x + 2000)•(21/25)•(x + 2000) = 11200x

=> 3(x + 1000)(x + 2000) = 25•800x

=> 3x² - 11000x + 6000000 = 0

=> (x-3000)(3x-2000) = 0
=> x = 3000 or 666⅔
=> 2x + 2000 = 8000 or 3333⅓
