LR 1700-1.0W First Deployment in a Wind Farm in Spain.

The new narrow-track crawler crane LR 1700-1.0W, owned by the Spanish company Aguado, is already proving its capabilities during its first deployment: assembling eight wind turbines at the Cascante wind farm in Navarra, with hub heights of 119 meters. However, this new 700-ton crane is far from reaching its performance limits, as it is designed for installing modern wind turbines with hub heights of up to 170 meters.

It offers significantly higher lifting capacities and heights compared to its predecessor, the LR 1600/2-W. This is made possible by its stronger base machine and the 3.5-meter-wide H-frame sections in the lower part of the main boom, which enhance the overall system's lateral stability. Liebherr also offers the LR 1700-1.0W with a luffing jib option, a feature not available on its predecessor.
