Feedback on yesterday as usual. Everyone can shit their pants after cashing one bet and count money. WHY WE NEED TO TAKE SOME TIME BEFORE DIVING INTO NBA MAX BETS

I said before that early in the season you can get some good spots to bet — I did not lie as we cashed two max bets. The very first two games are good spots to bet certain teams. But now we have to wait before teams trends finalize

Teams in the NBA have already played more than 5 games, how much of their stats are real, and how much are just contingent on specific opponents at the start and not very useful numbers?

It depends a lot on the specific indicators. A few years ago data researchers studied at what stage of the season which indicator for most teams comes to values close to the final ones, the results are as follows .

The pace, the frequency of three-pointers and the frequency of free throws for most teams form a representative sample after 4-5 games. It is the way the teams want to play - to push the pace, to pile up the threes - all that is rather a matter of choice (the frequency of fouls and opponent's threes is formed after 6-7 games)

The strength of the teams becomes more or less certain by game 8, at which point both the winning percentage and the net rating of most teams (key word is “most”, you never know who you're going to lose to) are close to what they will look like after 82 games

Shooting efficiency (both EFG% and True%) are formed by the 12th game

t takes the longest time to form the shooting percentages - only by the 26th game the realization comes to figures similar to the final ones (the opponent's shooting percentages are formed only after 33 matches).

The tendency is clear - offensive indicators, (teams own indicators), are formed before defensive indicators (opponent indicators) this applies to both defensive/attacking rating and shooting percentages. The things that a team can control are formed fastest, because they are related to the level of performers and the game plan hence the early “maturation” of winning percentage or shooting frequency from beyond the three. It takes the longest time to form realization rates from beyond the arc

What a shit day we had yesterday it took San Jose just 3 minutes in the last 5 minutes of the game to tie the game and we lost our first MAX BET in a inglorious fashion, but I am disappointed there is no doubt we will get over this loss today .

Offense is the only weapon they have. We have a classic overestimated + underestimated scenario here. Pistons despite being bottom feeders can bite back if they can get their game goin at the start the same way they did against the celtics. I would even bet pistons ml here but hell it's risky and i don't want to take serious risks here. maybe worth a sprinkle as a fun bet.

This one caught my interest. I'll bet the underdog and here's why. I see a lot of unreasonable certainty about Canucks winning today. And Flames are priced very cheap here. Canucks main goalie Demko is on injured reserve list, his backup is not bad but if he was better he wouldn't have been a backup right?

The clear favorite for the award is Wemby with odds around 1/2. Basically, it means that he is more likely to win this award than not. The second is last year's winner of the award - Gobert, they give (12/1), then goes Bam (13 to 1). Nothing interesting in betting on Wemby, but he is really the main favorite, he was considered a serious contender for the award last year, and after a year in the league he should be better, and everyone is tired of Gobert, people don't really want to vote for him. But if the Spurs have a weak defense, or if Wemby misses 15 games, things will fall apart and people might start looking for another candidate. Giannis (20/1) looks interesting here as he has to be a power unit this season, and Davis (also around 20-25 to 1). Maybe Anunoby, with odds around 31/1 but he might have problems playing 65 games.


📌 ROOKIE OF THE YEAR

The favorite is Zach Edey (5/1), he's the “we don't have any great rookies and this one is playing decent minutes on a serious team, let's pick him” guy. Kind of like Brogdon back in the day. And that might work, but then there's Sheppard (7/1), and he's just the guy who should be the cool rookie. In my taste, the most talented player in the draft. The problem is that the Rockets have a player at his position as well, and the young-talent status is full of people. All in all, it might be a little hard to prove his skill. There's also Buzelis (10/1). Chicago might try to invest in him, and he's the kind of player who should have a flashy stat line. And then there's Dillingham (15/1), he's kind of like the less reliable Edie - he could get into the Wolves rotation and be a standout, or he might not play much at all in his first season.

📌 MOST IMPROVED PLAYER

Wemby is also the favorite here, but not so clear, the odds on him are around 8/1. But it's boring, Wemby is already good, plus he's a sophomore, some people are not ready to admit the progress of such young players (they are supposed to progress by default). From the interesting ones, Podzemski, who should take all the shots of Thompson who left (the team said they want 8-10 3PA from him per game), efficiency will jump up. Brandon is 30/1, which is interesting (but he's also a sophomore). There's Giddy, who should make a splash in Chicago (odds around 15/1). JDub is young enough to progress and could get an increased role on the ball without Giddy (odds 17/1). And there's some good feeling about Quickley (odds 25/1), he's now probably the most talented offensive player in Toronto.

📌 SIXTH MAN OF THE YEAR

Monk (5/1) and Reed (7/1) are the favorites. I have a feeling that Monk's role may shrink a bit with the arrival of Derozan, and the usual brilliance won't be seen. This tilts the scales rather in Reed's favor - if Monk didn't overtake him last year, it will be even harder now (though some voters will probably try to give Monk credit for not getting the award last year). The other interesting ones are Hart (odds of 15/1) and McConnell (25/1), but they are somewhat unconventional sixth men, usually the ones who score a lot. But in terms of impact, these dudes will be very important.
