I grew up in a small, rented room—three families sharing one toilet, no kitchen, no space. My mom worked all day, fighting migraine pain, while my elder brother went to school. No toys, no friends. But we had one thing—a small TV. Movies on DD National—Chamatkar, Baadshah, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai—were our only joy.

Life changed. From that tiny room to our own house, then to a luxurious flat. But that journey taught me something—happiness isn’t about big things, it’s in small moments. I remember my mom looking at a fancy restaurant we could never afford. Years later, I took her there. That felt special.

I work hard because I saw my dad struggle to find work. When life gives you a chance, grab it with both hands. Growing up, SRK movies were my escape. And then one day, I saw him in Delhi, shooting for Main Hoon Na. He said,
“Jitni chadar hai utne pair failao’ is wrong. Chadar badi karo aur pair failao—that’s what his late mother taught him.”

That hit deep. Maybe that’s why he still feels like a part of my childhood. Funny thing? My first rented house was near where he studied.

The journey matters. Becoming a billionaire when your father is a millionaire isn’t a big deal. But when the son of a daily wage worker becomes a clerk—that’s something.
