8) The “Commonality Finder”

When sending DM openers you want to try and find a commonality.

Did they grow up in same city/region you did? Do they live in a place you’ve been before?

Do they work in an industry you’re in? Have the same polarizing opinion you have?

Find a commonality and mention it in your initial DMs.

Here’s an example of the initial DMs I sent to book a call with a big agency owner for a client of mine:

Hey Kyle. Dig the concept behind (company).

You guys do mostly Google Ads? For what kind of companies

Always wanted to visit Utah btw. Seen some 4K drone videos of the mountains over there. So beautiful

^^that last message is the Commonality Finder.

Incredibly effective.


9) Address Objections


“How much is it?

“Sorry I don’t have the time”

“I need to make more to afford it”

You’ll always get objections in the DMs and throughout the sales process.

These are still HOT prospects!

You haven’t lost them.

I’ve booked tons of calls for myself & clients where I thought “OK, there’s no way they’re gonna book”

Address the objection and send the call link anyways.

You’d be surprised how many calls you actually book with prospects who actively resist your pitch.

As you get better & better at DM sales.

Craft scripts around EVERY objection you get.

Have them ready to fire off at any moment to book that call.

10) Multiple Touch Points

An average prospect will only book a call with you after 5+ touch points.

So don’t JUST DM.

Connect. Like & comment on 1-2 posts showcasing your social proof/expertise and adding value.

Endorse them on LinkedIn. Follow up multiple times over several weeks. Send them a free training you know they need.

More times a prospect sees you = more likely they will book a call.

10 Private DM Sales Tactics (Make $25K+/Month In the DMs)


1) The “Authoritative Profile”

Whatever profile you use to DM - LinkedIn, FB, X, IG… doesn’t matter.

You MUST have an authoritative profile.

Regularly post content 3-4x a week minimum.

Case studies, testimonials, educate your audience, tell stories about successes.

The more detailed the better.

On LinkedIn get 99+ people to endorse your top 2 skills.

Have 2+ clients send you glowing recommendations to plaster on your profile.

Your profile makes or breaks your outreach.

It’s the landing page people click to decide to book a call or not.

Make it POP and GLOW with social proof.


2) The Empty Connection Request (LinkedIn)

Get LinkedIn Sales Navigator.

Find your hyper-targeted ICP.

Use filters like:

Location, industry, service, position, years at company, posted on LinkedIn (makes sure prospects are active).

Try to send connection requests out at 8-10 AM in your prospects’ timezone.

Max out and send 200+ connection requests a week.

Start convos with who accepted. You should be getting a 30-60% acceptance rate.

That’s 60-120 new convos a week.


3) The “Restrained Compliment”

I hope you’re complimenting prospects in the DMs.

It’s a must.

But there’s probably a big issue with how you were taught to compliment.

99% compliment in a way that HURTS them because they’re too enthusiastic.

“I absolutely LOVE the work you did with E-Com ROI!”

Not good.

It’s too much and looks desperate.

Instead, hold back a little.

“Solid case study with E-Com ROI. 3.2x ROAS is pretty good for e-com FB ads”

See the difference?

Much better and paints you as an authoritative expert.


4) The “Question Attack”

It’s OK to send ask 2, 3, even 4 questions all at once.

Shows you’re genuinely curious about the prospect and want to help.

EXAMPLE:

“How’s the brand going? Running FB ads? And are you hitting your goals”

I just asked 3 questions in one.

Works really well to get a prospect to open up.


5) The “Value Foreshadower”

How can you help the prospect?

Do you know people you can connect them with?

Are you an authority in the space and have been where they want to be?

Sneakily throw that in there.

EXAMPLE:

Have you read Predictable Prospecting by Aaron Ross?

Maybe the best book written on outbound. Pure gold

Actually have 9 pages of notes I took on it - want me to send them to you?

EXAMPLE 2:

You trying to scale your e-com brand? I actually just worked with X brand and took them from a 2x to 4x ROAS on their TikTok ads in just a few weeks.


6) The “Connector”

Do your prospects need help with their email newsletter? Podcast? Social media?

Tell them you know some killers and can connect them.

EXAMPLE:

“Dig the podcast. Noticed you’re only at 150 views an episode. Know some killers in the podcast space who can help. Want me to connect you guys?”

Shows you’re there not just to make the same.

You genuinely want to help and are leading with value.

And connecting people is a win-win-win. Especially if you have referral partnerships in place.


7) The “Outcome Independent Voice Message”

USE VOICE MESSAGES!

But you must be outcome independent and grounded.

Tonality is super important here.

Value-first, get deep into their business and pry into their pain points.

Your voice helps you connect.

Also automated outreach really turns people off.

Voice messages show you’re messaging them 1-on-1.

Prospects will warm up & you’re more likely to book that call.
