The Conference of Parties (COP) is the apex decision-making body of the UNFCCC (United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change). The 29th edition of the COP will be held in Baku, Azerbaijan, in November 2024.

Elections took place in 90 assembly constituencies in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir: 43 in the Jammu region and 47 in the Kashmir region.
The J&K Delimitation Commission had increased the number of seats in Jammu from 37 to 43 and Kashmir from 46 to 47. This delimitation exercise was done in 2022. Also, the Lieutenant Governor (LG) can nominate 5 members, taking the total to 95.
Twenty-four seats are designated for the areas under the Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (POK).
