2️⃣ Local provider + third-party node
A balance between ease and privacy. Your local provider helps secure your browsing, but the third-party node you connect to can see what you're accessing. There's also a risk of receiving altered content.

3️⃣ Third-party provider
The easiest way to access DeWeb for most users. However, it’s the least private : both the provider and the node it connects to can see your activity and potentially alter the content. Great for quick browsing but less secure for sensitive use cases.

Want maximum privacy and security ? Go for option 1.💡
Need simplicity for non-sensitive browsing ? Option 3 is your go-to.

What are Deferred Calls in Massa ? 🤔

Deferred Calls allow smart contracts to schedule actions that will be executed later, without triggering them immediately.
This adds flexibility and efficiency to smart contract automation.⚙️

Let’s take airlines as a concrete example :

When you book a flight, an algorithm estimates costs based on demand and occupancy. If you're not happy with the quote, you look for cheaper flights around the same date. Once you're happy with the quote, you pay it to reserve the flight.✈️

Massa's Deferred Calls allow a smart contract to ask for a quote to execute a program at a given time in the future. If the quote is too high, the smart contract can look for cheaper slots around the target time. If the quote is OK, the smart contract pays it and immediately gets the guarantee that the program will be executed exactly at the booked time, and nobody can prevent that execution from happening.✅

Key Use Cases :

1️⃣ Scheduled & Recurring Payments
Smart contracts can schedule payments at a future date with a strong guarantee that they will be executed exactly at the scheduled time, even in case of network congestion or block delays. This is ideal for payroll, subscriptions, or time-based fund releases.

2️⃣ Optimized Fee Selection
Contracts can schedule executions for time slots where fees are currently lower and pay the current price in advance, ensuring cost efficiency without relying on unpredictable future conditions.

3️⃣ Automated Dollar Cost Averaging (Dusa)
@DusaLabs will leverage Deferred Calls to implement automated Dollar Cost Averaging (DCA). A user can set up a strategy where a specific amount of asset A is swapped for asset B at regular intervals (e.g., every X hours), ensuring disciplined investing over time.

4️⃣ Automatic Order Expiry for Trading
Orders on a decentralized exchange can be set to expire automatically after a specific time. This prevents outdated or unwanted orders from remaining active indefinitely, improving trading efficiency and security.

5️⃣ Liquidity Management with Guaranteed Execution
In DeFi, managing liquidity efficiently is crucial. Deferred Calls can be used to schedule liquidity transfers or strategy adjustments with guaranteed execution. This ensures that once a liquidity operation is planned, it will happen exactly as scheduled, avoiding risks such as frontrunning or unexpected market conditions. Unlike other scheduling mechanisms, Deferred Calls provide a reliable way to execute financial operations at predefined times.

Deferred Calls offer a simple, guaranteed way for smart contracts to reserve a specific time for execution. While other solutions exist for scheduling transactions, they often rely on off-chain automation or third-party intermediaries.🔗

Massa's approach is fully decentralized and 100% on-chain, ensuring that no external actor is needed to trigger execution. This makes Deferred Calls a powerful tool for truly autonomous smart contracts, complementing Async Messages, which allow more flexible scheduling with richer conditions but don’t offer the same execution guarantees.⚖️

Together, these features give Massa’s smart contracts unmatched autonomy, making them capable of both scheduling and executing actions in a trustless, decentralized manner. 🌐

Here’s an exciting update on the Massa Mobile Wallet app, a project supported through our grants program ! 🚀

The development team has made great progress, and here are some key updates :

- Token Management : More tokens are now supported. While the “Add New Token” feature isn’t ready yet, tokens can still be manually listed as they launch.
- Gas Estimation for Transactions : Added.
- Improved Transaction Success Page : A revamped design provides better clarity after each transaction.
- Customization & Security Enhancements : Users can now edit account names and export private keys directly from the app.
- Settings Page : A new centralized place to adjust wallet preferences.
- MNS Direct Purchase Integration : Domain purchases can now be made directly within the wallet.

One feature still in progress is the in-app browser. While not included in this version, it’s on the team’s roadmap.
For now, the wallet fully supports Dusa, and other key dApps will be added gradually.
Once the browser feature is implemented, users will have seamless access to any platform launching on Massa.

The project is approaching the final stages of development, with a testing phase next to ensure the best quality.

Running a node on Massa is simple, affordable, and open to everyone.
Here’s how to get started and support the decentralized web while earning rewards :

1️⃣ Hardware Requirements

To run a node and stake, you'll need a computer with :
- At least 8 cores
- 16 GB of RAM
- 1 TB of disk space
- A reliable internet connection

2️⃣ Staking Requirements

To stake on Massa, you need a minimum of 1 roll (100 $MAS), which is approximately $6 at current prices.

3️⃣ Install Your Node

This is the most private and secure option. You control everything : no one knows what sites you visit, and there's no risk of tampered content (unless the site itself is compromised). Ideal for those seeking full autonomy !

2️⃣ Local provider + third-party node
A balance between ease and privacy. Your local provider helps secure your browsing, but the third-party node you connect to can see what you're accessing. There's also a risk of receiving altered content.

3️⃣ Third-party provider
The easiest way to access DeWeb for most users. However, it’s the least private : both the provider and the node it connects to can see your activity and potentially alter the content. Great for quick browsing but less secure for sensitive use cases.

Want maximum privacy and security ? Go for option 1.💡
Need simplicity for non-sensitive browsing ? Option 3 is your go-to.
