Did you know that Mars' year isn't equal to that of Earth? It takes Mars 1.88 Earth years to orbit the Sun. But even though our Martian colonists aren't Earthbound anymore, we still have some words of encouragement and celebration on this New Year's Eve:

This past year has come with its challenges and successes, and you’ve been with us every step of the way. But there is still much to do on Mars. It is the fuel for the space shuttles that the Martians arrived on from Earth. When used in a mining rig, its explosive combustion allows you to have 4 additional moves inside the Mining Mission!
