Some songs transcend generations, carrying with them the heart and soul of a community. The
Krechnif Mitzvah Tantz song is one of such. It’s a timeless tune that traces back to pre-war
Sighet.
After the Holocaust, the handwritten musical notes were discovered, a relic of the past waiting to
be revived. This melody, once nearly lost, was lovingly restored by the Krechnif Rebbe’s
grandfather, Reb Leizer Wolf.
This version of the song, often sung at Mitzvah Tantzen, is brought to life by Gesher which is
dedicated to reviving Chasidish melodies by blending the echoes of the past with the sounds of
today.
With the voices of Meilech Kohn and Levi Falkowitz, this Krechnif Mitzvah Tantz composition is
more than just a song- it’s a bridge across generations. A melody reborn.
