Key talking points from Jerome Powell's speech to Congress:

⚪️ The US economy remains strong.
⚪️ Inflation has slowed but is still above the 2% target (core PCE is 2.8% over 12 months).
⚪️ Given the strong economy, there will be no rush to cut rates in order to prevent inflation from rising again.
⚪️ The Fed is conducting its second periodic review of monetary policy strategy and tools.
⚪️ If the labor market weakens or inflation falls more quickly, rates may be eased.
⚪️ The labor market is stable and is not a source of inflationary pressure.
