Adam also wrote about the evolution of Ero Guro and its ties to kinbaku: ”The Tendrils of Ero Guro”:
“…the art form is reflective of Japan's continued embrace of art as a means to explore and give a platform for natural curiosity, offering a space to indulge in primal desires in a safe and constructive manner; much akin to Kinbaku…”
Adam is a freelance writer/editor from Canada, co-founder of the Grimoire of Horror, contributor to Asian Movie Pulse and The Aither. A self-described counter culture nerd. Find more about Adam on https://adamwriteslive.wordpress.com/.

Very happy and proud to present work of Daisuke Ichiba @badajapan - Japanese painter, cartoonist, and photographer based in Tokyo - self-taught in art, recognized as one of the most grotesque artists and appreciated both in Japan and internationally. For a long time we have been huge fans of his work! And we were beyond excited as he kindly agreed to contribute some of his illustrations to our magazine.
Read in our last issue and find more about Daisuke Ichibas’ work here: https://hollow-press.net/collections/daisuke-ichiba
The feature is accompanied by the brilliant writing by Adam Symchuk @ghosteawrites :
“Ichiba’s art is a sort of controlled chaos, playful yet mature; there is a sense of a loss of innocence but one that is welcomed in by drawing the observer to the spectacle. However, the easiest way to classify the work of Daisuke Ichiba is in the label he attaches to his work, “violence bijin painter,” with bijin meaning “beautiful woman.” Daisuke Ichiba is indeed a painter of beautiful women.”

Next to traditional Japanese aesthetics we aim to feature artists with a fresh European perspective. Super excited to present in this issue work of a very talented rigger and photographer - also from Berlin: @Jaylacorderouge
In his own words:
“…With photography, I set the mood, let the model be themselves, and seize their genuine emotions through my camera. Ropes allow me to take it a step further by heavily influencing what the model experiences in tune with my desire in that moment before visually capturing it. The beauty of it is, whilst I steer almost everything, I cannot control their raw reaction. It will always be unique to that person and that intimate moment, which is why I welcome it as a gift for myself - to seize with my lens, revisit later, and share back with my model…”
Enjoy the photostory from Jay cocreated with @saara.rei.v4 and @velvetine_dreams with the help of @carnivore_pictures in our new issue:

We are also very excited and proud to present amazing Rüdiger Schestag (IG: @ruedigerschestag ) as a “Featured Artist” in our new issue.
Rüdiger is a trained photographer and lecturer and focuses on analog photography. His studio is located in Berlin. Rüdiger works with wet plate collodion process: very analog, very traditional technique, rarely used these days. His photography feels three-dimensional, they are almost breathing from the pages.. ❤️
The pictures are accompanied by a short text from the artist, sharing about his relationships with Kinbaku and wet plate photography.
Enjoy Rüdiger’s art in our magazine and read more about him on his website: www.ruedigerschestag.de

We are very honored to have once again work of master Norio Sugiura featured in our magazine, this time his shooting with Natasha.
We had this shooting in 2023 in Tokyo, in his artist studio, very small and intimate setting, and it had a profound impact on her as a model. She writes a story about it that accompanies the photography.
We are very happy and proud this feature could open our new I/24 “metamorphosed” magazine!

Of course, a thicker and better magazine costs more in production. But we are very happy that we found a way to keep the price by content at the same level: The new magazine will be available for 20 € (plus shipping). This allows us to cover the cost, keep the system running, and even support artists we admire.

76 pages plus cover (and soft cover)
500 limited edition, hand numbered
20 € plus shipping

Don’t miss it: follow us on Telegram to get the link for pre-sales, before we share the link in public. If you are a community and like to place bulk order, please reach out to us!

I wish you wonderful feelings.
