University of California Irvine (UCI)
Our Ph.D. program offers a comprehensive funding package to all admitted students, including four years of guaranteed funding (full tuition covered), a competitive stipend, and health insurance. UCI is also the only UC campus to offer guaranteed on-campus housing for graduate students. Additionally, the GRE is waived for this cycle, ensuring a streamlined application process for your students.
Our CBE department is expanding, with 17 faculty members engaged in both experimental and computational research in areas such as:
• Macromolecular Engineering – Designing and characterizing polymers, soft materials, and complex fluids for applications in medicine, energy, environment and consumer products.
• Biotechnology and Biomolecular Engineering – Developing innovative methods for disease treatment, cellular engineering, and synthetic biology and biorenewable energy.
• Energy and Sustainability – Developing advanced renewable energy and decarbonization technologies through catalysis, electrochemistry, modeling, manufacturing and process design.
Students in our program have access to state-of-the-art facilities, enabling them to conduct transformative research that addresses global challenges. Our graduate program provides a vibrant environment that supports innovative research, interdisciplinary collaboration, and opportunities for career development.
