BaZi: The Tale of the Sad Parent
BaZi, or the Four Pillars of Destiny, is a powerful tool that tells the story of who we are, how we perceive the world, and how we interact with the people around us. It offers deep insights into our personality traits, our strengths and weaknesses, and even our relationships with family and society. Understanding one’s BaZi chart is like unraveling a unique narrative where each person’s journey and worldview are shaped by the energies of the elements and interactions between the heavenly stems and earthly branches.
BaZi Reveals Our Relationship with Family
One of the most revealing aspects of a BaZi chart is how it reflects a person’s relationship with their family, particularly through the family pillar. In some cases, the chart may show clashes in this pillar, indicating complex or strained family dynamics.
For example, people with a significant clash in their family pillar often feel misunderstood or underappreciated by their families, even when their families are genuinely supportive and generous. This clash of intellect and expectations can create a perception of family life that feels lacking, even if, objectively, they have received ample support.
Real Stories from Past Clients
I've worked with many clients over the years, and two cases come to mind that perfectly illustrate this BaZi phenomenon:
Case 1: The Ungrateful Achiever
This client came from a family that provided him with a stable upbringing, a good education, and opportunities to succeed. However, despite all the support he received, he constantly criticized his parents, feeling that they didn’t do enough for him. When he attended our classes and learned about BaZi, he realized a pattern in his life: he often attracted people who tried to help him, but his power-hungry and self-serving nature pushed them away. He was surrounded by opportunities and benefactors, yet his own ungratefulness created a cycle where he always felt wronged and neglected.
Case 2: The Self-Destructive Gambler
Another client had a similar clash in his family pillar. He gambled away his parents’ savings and even their house, yet he continued to blame them for not providing a better life. He frequently manipulated and cheated his family out of money and resources, but still held onto the belief that they had failed him. His character was marked by a lack of accountability and a deep sense of entitlement. Despite being given multiple chances, he never learned to take responsibility, and his life was marked by repeated cycles of self-destruction.
Lessons We Can Learn from These Cases
Be Cautious of Ungrateful People: If you encounter someone who speaks poorly of their parents or constantly feels that their family has wronged them despite evidence to the contrary, it’s a red flag. People who are unkind or ungrateful to their parents often carry this ungrateful energy into other areas of their lives, including business and friendships. They may struggle with trustworthiness and reliability.
Some People Cannot Be Helped: BaZi shows us that some individuals are trapped in cycles of negative behavior and thinking. If a person is unwilling to see their own faults or learn from their mistakes, it’s difficult—if not impossible—to change them. These people may always feel victimized or misunderstood, and their lack of self-awareness prevents them from truly growing or improving.
How BaZi Reveals These Traits
BaZi can pinpoint these clashes and tendencies, whether they appear directly in a person’s natal chart or manifest later through their luck cycles. By understanding these patterns, we can better navigate our relationships and protect ourselves from potential harm. It can also help us recognize our own blind spots and areas for growth, encouraging us to cultivate gratitude and positive connections with those who have supported us.
