one thing is different is pump.fun has attracted product market fit of both Solana and Gen Z (TikTok, Kick, Twitch, Onlyfans)

🤔 we didnt have this much in previous cycles, celebrities was the last leg to onboard previous bull.

I could see a cascade effect because of this, we are now deploying more coins than liquidity can handle (Think about all the dead liquidity stuck in coins) vs previous cycles we had less attention and few coins to push. At the same time crypto has become more popular so it balances out but one side has to eventually give in.

my thoughts - last two weeks -

last two weeks we saw the rise and fall of liquidity and over-saturation in the meme coin market. not discounting memes or saying meme supercycle is wrong but it became an echo chamber on X and TG / Discord.

Over the last 5 days we saw a shift of wealth and charts (some nuking 80-90%) and looking unsalvageable while old alts from 2017 have risen up. Some pulling unfathomable numbers since election (XRP, XLM, ADA, etc)

Thinking how the current wealth is coming its from institutions and potentially OG crypto people who didnt ride the last cycle but in fact the prior one and now hearing their future president is crypto friendly it allows them to rally with their philosophy -

BITCOIN is King
Utility plays like AVAX, XRP, CHAINLINK, etc for government institutions- the ones that have been building and can create value

I think your bags that are underwater will pump again and have their moments. The strongest communities will recover the best but that also means your bags will fall hard again when the cycle is over.

My two cents is always take even a few % a week into profit, into safer assets like BTC that act as cold storage.

Ive roundtripped many times over by being all in on low- caps or hoping my next project is the future X but you have to stay realistic.

I personally ate the meme supercycle cookie as well swapping my long term holds on things like SUI, SEI, into memes as I got impatient. Ive rebalanced my port this week to hold a fraction of memes, utilities, etc to stay diversified. Although i might not make as much as someone who is all in on memes on the right ones I can sleep better at night and have a more risk diverse portfolio.

everyone has different goals, my main takeaway from this post for you is to not just drink the CT kool-aid but create your own thesis and stick to convictions you came up with. It will be far more rewarding and you will be proud to have your own plan. If you follow what everyone else is doing you will end up slaughtered and holding the bag.
