A tale of betrayal: How King Abdullah II Became the King of Jordan.

King Abdullah II of Jordan comes from the Hashemite dynasty, a family that once ruled Makkah & Madinah. But how did they end up ruling present-day Jordan? It all starts with Sharif Hussein bin Ali, the Amir of Makkah.

Sharif Hussein was appointed Amir of Makkah by the Ottomans in 1908. But in 1916, he betrayed the Ottoman Caliphate by launching the Arab Revolt, backed by the British, who promised him an Arab kingdom.

Although there might have been some discontent about Ottoman rule, the bloodshed and disunity that has ensued in the Middle East since, far outweighs that.

The British never intended to keep their promise. While Sharif Hussein was fighting the Ottomans, the UK & France secretly signed the Sykes-Picot Agreement (1916) - dividing the Middle East between them.

After WWI, instead of giving Arabs independence, the British & French colonized the region. The French took Syria, the British took Palestine & Iraq. Sharif Hussein’s dreams of ruling an Arab empire were crushed.

As a consolation, the British installed his son Abdullah as Emir of Transjordan (1921) & his other son Faisal as King of Iraq. This is how the Hashemites were placed on the throne of Jordan - by British hands.

Meanwhile, in 1924, Sharif Hussein lost Makkah & Madinah when Ibn Saud conquered the Hijaz, establishing the Saudi State. The British secretly supported Ibn Saud and betrayed Sharif Hussein. The Hashemites were driven out & their rule in present-day Saudi Arabia ended.

King Abdullah I ruled Transjordan until 1951 when he was assassinated by a Palestinian nationalist for his cooperation with Britain & Israel. His grandson, King Hussein, took over & ruled until 1999.

King Hussein signed a peace treaty with Israel (1994), making Jordan the 2nd Arab country to recognize the Zionist state.

This is how Sharif Hussein’s family lost Makkah & Madinah but gained Jordan & Iraq - not through the people’s will, but through British colonial strategy.

ICC chief prosecutor to be first target of Trump’s sanctions: Report

International Criminal Court (ICC) Prosecutor Karim Khan may be the first person to be targeted under President Trump’s executive order authorising sanctions against the court and its staff, the Reuters news agency reports, citing two anonymous sources.

Khan, a British citizen, was named on Friday in an annexe – not yet made public – to Trump’s executive order, said a senior ICC official and another source, both briefed by US government officials.

The sanctions Khan and other designated ICC officials will face include the freezing of US assets and being barred, along with their families, from visiting the US.

Trump’s executive order directed Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, in consultation with Secretary of State Marco Rubio, to submit a report within 60 days naming those who should be sanctioned.

Trump’s move has been met with widespread condemnation, including from more than 70 countries – France, Germany, the United Kingdom and the Netherlands among them – who have reaffirmed their support for the ICC.

The ICC has condemned the sanctions, pledging to stand by its staff and “continue providing justice and hope to millions of innocent victims of atrocities across the world”.

Marvel Entertainment, Trump Election Funding by Ghosts of Palestine

Ownership of Marvel Entertainment
Marvel Entertainment is a subsidiary of The Walt Disney Company. Disney acquired Marvel in 2009 for approximately $4 billion. The company is known for its extensive portfolio of superhero characters and its cinematic universe. Key figures in Marvel's history include Isaac Perlmutter, a former CEO of Marvel Entertainment, who is of Israeli-American descent.

Connections to Zionism and Israel
Marvel is onnected to Zionism and Israeli nationalism. For example, the announcement of Israeli actress Shira Haas playing the superhero Sabra in the upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) film "Captain America: New World Order" sparked backlash. Sabra, a character originally depicted as a Mossad agent in the comics, has been criticized for promoting Zionist.

Additionally, several individuals associated with Marvel have ties to Israeli intelligence and Zionist institutions. These connections have led to accusations that Marvel promotes militarism and nationalism, including U.S. and Israeli military propaganda.

Israeli Projects and Representation
Marvel's inclusion of Israeli characters and themes has been a point of contention. The character Sabra, for instance, has been reimagined for the MCU to address concerns about her original portrayal, which some viewed as insensitive and overly nationalistic. Such representations can serve to normalize and promote Israeli state policies, including those related to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

Ethnic Cleansing of Palestinians
The company's portrayal of Israeli characters and themes can indirectly support narratives that align with Israeli state policies. These policies have been described by some as contributing to the displacement and oppression of Palestinians.

Religion of Marvel's Key Figures
Isaac Perlmutter, a prominent figure in Marvel's history, is Zionist and has been described as a supporter of pro-Israel causes. His background and connections have fueled discussions about Marvel's alignment with Zionist ideologies.

Trump and Pro-Israel Stances
Donald Trump has been vocal about his support for Israel, often framing it as a key aspect of his political identity. He has criticized Jewish Americans who vote for Democrats, claiming they "hate Israel" and "their religion". Trump's administration was widely regarded as one of the most pro-Israel in U.S. history, a stance that resonated with many Republican Zionist donors.

Conclusion
Marvel Entertainment's connections to Israel and Zionism have sparked significant debate, particularly regarding its portrayal of Israeli characters and themes. Isaac Perlmutter, the prominent businessman known for his leadership at Marvel Entertainment, is married to Miriam Perlmutter. Together, they are recognized for their philanthropic efforts and involvement in various companies. Their wealth is significantly tied to Perlmutter's successful ventures in the entertainment and business sectors. Miriam Perlmutter funded Donald Trump's election campaign and was invited to Trump's inauguration.

Wiz is a prominent Israeli cloud cybersecurity startup that has achieved significant success, including a valuation of $12 billion and plans for further expansion. The company was founded by alumni of Israel's military intelligence Unit 8200, a unit known for its expertise in cyber defense and offense.

Unit 8200 has been described as an incubator for cybersecurity startups, with its alumni founding companies like Wiz, Palo Alto Networks, and others. The skills and experience gained in Unit 8200 have positioned its members as leaders in the global cybersecurity industry.

Surveillance and Palestinian Concerns:
Unit 8200 has been criticized for its role in surveillance operations targeting Palestinians. The unit uses advanced technologies, such as facial recognition and data tracking, to monitor and control Palestinian populations, violations and the suppression of Palestinian rights.

Wiz's founders' ties to Unit 8200, the company's success directly benefits associated with the unit. For example, the Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions (BDS) movement has called for boycotts of Israeli companies, including Wiz, as part of a broader effort to protest Israel's policies towards Palestinians.

Impact on Wiz's Founders and Reputation
Their ties to Unit 8200 have also drawn scrutiny, particularly from those critical of Israel's military and intelligence practices. While this connection has bolstered their reputation in the tech world, it has also made them a target for activists advocating for Palestinian rights.

Overview of Toka by Ghosts of Palestine

Toka is an Israeli intelligence and cybersecurity company that develops advanced digital forensics and intelligence tools. The company primarily serves government, law enforcement, and security agencies, providing them with tools for cyber intelligence gathering and surveillance. Toka's technology is marketed as a way to strengthen homeland security, but it has also raised significant ethical and human rights violations due to its misuse on individuals such as Journalists, Activists and Palestinian movements.

Surrounding Toka
Toka has been described as one of the most dangerous spyware firms, with critics arguing that its products could be used for illegal surveillance and abuse. Unlike the more widely known NSO Group (creator of Pegasus spyware), Toka has largely flown under the radar of mainstream media scrutiny. However, its capabilities, such as hacking into surveillance cameras and altering video feeds, have drawn comparisons to dystopian scenarios.

One particularly alarming feature of Toka's technology is its ability to manipulate video feeds. This capability could allow users to fabricate evidence or tamper with surveillance footage, raising concerns about its potential use in framing individuals or undermining justice systems. A human rights expert described this as "truly dystopian," warning of scenarios where individuals might not even know if the evidence against them is real or fabricated.

Founders and Leadership
Toka was co-founded by Ehud Barak, a former Israeli Prime Minister and Defense Minister. Barak's involvement in the company has drawn attention due to his background in Israeli politics and military intelligence. The company also has ties to Unit 8200, Israel's elite military intelligence unit, which has been linked to the development of other controversial surveillance technologies.

Ethical Concerns
Toka's tools, while marketed as lawful and for legitimate government use, could easily be abused by authoritarian regimes or corrupt officials. The lack of transparency and oversight in the sale and use of such technologies exacerbates these concerns. For example, Toka's ability to hack into and manipulate surveillance systems could be used to suppress dissent, target activists, or violate privacy rights.

Conclusion
While Toka positions itself as a provider of cutting-edge cybersecurity solutions for governments, its capabilities and potential for misuse have sparked significant ethical and human rights violations. The involvement of high-profile figures like Ehud Barak and the company's ties to Unit 8200 further highlight the need for greater scrutiny and regulation of such technologies.

Emphasizing the need to ensure accountability for the most serious crimes under international law through appropriate, fair and independent investigations and prosecutions at the national or international level, and to ensure justice for all victims and the prevention of future crimes;

Convinced that collective action through coordinated legal and diplomatic measures at both national and international levels is an urgent imperative to uphold the principles of justice and accountability that form the foundation of the UN Charter,

Declare our intention to:

INAUGURAL JOINT STATEMENT

The Hague Group, January 31, 2025

We, the Representatives from the Governments of Belize, Plurinational State of Bolivia, Republic of Colombia, Republic of Cuba, Republic of Honduras, Malaysia, Republic of Namibia, Republic of Senegal and Republic of South Africa in The Hague, Netherlands, on this 31st day of January 2025, inaugurate The Hague Group,

Guided by the purposes and principles enshrined in the Charter of the United Nations, and the responsibility of all nations to uphold the inalienable rights, including the right to self-determination, that it enshrines for all peoples,

Grieving the lives, livelihoods, communities, and cultural heritage lost due to Israel, the occupying power’s genocidal actions in Gaza and the remainder of the Occupied Palestinian Territory against the Palestinian people,

Refusing to remain passive in the face of such international crimes,

Determined to uphold our obligations to end the Israeli occupation of the State of Palestine and support the realisation of the inalienable right of the Palestinian People to self-determination, including the right to their independent State of Palestine,

Recalling

the orders of the International Court of Justice in the case of South Africa v. Israel of 29 December 2023, which reflect a serious concern about the perpetration of crimes of genocide in Palestine, and noting the significant and diverse number of States that have joined as third States in the case, to demand the condemnation and immediate cessation of the ongoing genocide,.

the Advisory Opinion of the International Court of Justice of 19 July 2024 on the ‘Legal Consequences arising from the Policies and Practices of Israel in the Occupied Palestinian Territory, including East Jerusalem’,

and the Advisory Opinion of the International Court of Justice of 9 July 2004 ‘’Legal Consequences of the Construction of a Wall in the Occupied Palestinian Territory’’

the United Nations General Assembly Resolution A/RES/Es-10/24, adopted on 18 September 2024 at the Tenth Emergency Special Session, which endorsed the ICJ’s Advisory Opinion of July 2024, and the commitments of member states to comply with the obligations under international law as reflected in the advisory opinion,

the International Criminal Court’s issuance on 21 November 2024 of warrants of arrest for indicating “reasonable grounds to believe that Mr Netanyahu and Mr Gallant each bear criminal responsibility as civilian superiors for the war crime of intentionally directing an attack against the civilian population...the war crime of starvation as a method of warfare...and the crimes against humanity of murder, persecution, and other inhumane acts”.

the order of the International Court of Justice in Nicaragua v. Germany of 30 April 2024 “remind[ing] all States of their international obligations relating to the transfer of arms to parties to an armed conflict, in order to avoid the risk that such arms might be used to violate” the Genocide Convention and the Geneva Conventions in relation to Israel’s conduct in Gaza and the remainder of the Occupied Palestinian Territory,

the United Nations Security Council Resolution 418 of 4 November 1977, and United Nations Security Council Resolution 591 of 28 November 1986, that “imposed a mandatory arms embargo” against Apartheid South Africa.

all the relevant resolutions of the Security Council, including resolution 2334 (2016) of 23 December 2016, which reaffirmed that “the establishment by Israel of settlements in the Palestinian territory occupied since 1967, including East Jerusalem, has no legal validity and constitutes a flagrant violation under international law”;

Stressing that the legal norms violated by Israel include certain obligations of an erga omnes character that are, by their very nature, the concern of all States and, in view of the importance of the rights involved, all States can be held to have a legal interest in their protection,

Genocide scholar says Israel breached ‘every international humanitarian law’ in Gaza

Israel has committed “severe breaches of each and every international humanitarian law, doing so with near total impunity” in Gaza, a respected genocide scholar said.

Omer Bartov, professor of Holocaust and genocide studies at Brown University in the US, made the comments in response to an attack by the Israeli ambassador to Germany, Ron Prosor.

The Israeli ambassador attacked Bartov over an interview in which he said the memory of the Holocaust has been misused by Israel.

Bartov, a former soldier who served with the Israeli military in Gaza and the West Bank in the 1970s, has been a strong critic of Israel’s violence against the Palestinian people and has described it as a campaign of genocide.

“It is a bitter irony that a country created in the wake of the moral collapse represented by Nazism has now contributed so mightily to undermining the very constraints on international criminality, all in the name of defending civilisation,” Bartov said.

Bartov also said the ambassador had failed to address or defend the “vast destruction” in Gaza and pointed to Prosor’s own role as “a small but necessary cog in this systematic dismantling of humanitarian standards and the dehumanisation of anyone standing in the way of wanton violence and oppression”.

“But we will all play the price of his complicity,” he added.

Hello everyone,

We appreciate your support. It's important to acknowledge that many creators focusing on pro-Palestine content face challenges with visibility on platforms like YouTube. Here are some key facts regarding the situation:

1. Algorithm Bias: Numerous creators have observed that the YouTube algorithm tends to favor mainstream or neutral content, often sidelining channels that promote specific political or social causes, including pro-Palestine narratives.

2. Limited Reach: As a result of this bias, even high-quality content aimed at raising awareness and fostering solidarity may not receive the exposure it deserves. This limits the audience who can engage with and support our message.

3. Community Support Needed: To counter this lack of visibility, we need your help! By subscribing to our channel, sharing our videos, and engaging with our content, you can help amplify our message and ensure that it reaches a wider audience.

Your support is crucial in helping us overcome the challenges posed by algorithm biases. Together, we can make a difference and spread the message of liberation and solidarity.

Oslo Accords

The Oslo Accords, signed in the 1990s, were intended to pave the way for peace between Israel and the Palestinians.

Here are some of the key drawbacks:

Limited Sovereignty

One of the most significant disadvantages of the Oslo Accords for Palestinians was the establishment of the Palestinian Authority (PA), which was granted limited self-governance over parts of the West Bank and Gaza Strip. This arrangement did not provide full sovereignty or control over these territories, leaving critical issues such as borders, security, and resources largely in Israeli hands. As a result, Palestinians found themselves with a fragmented governance structure that lacked the authority to make substantial decisions regarding their future.

Continued Israeli Control

The accords allowed Israel to maintain significant control over key areas, including security and borders. This ongoing control has led to restrictions on Palestinian movement and economic development. The presence of Israeli settlements in the West Bank has further complicated the situation, as these settlements are often built on land that Palestinians claim for a future state. The expansion of these settlements has been a major point of contention and has undermined the viability of a contiguous Palestinian state.

Failure to Address Core Issues

The Oslo Accords were designed to be a step towards a final status agreement, yet they failed to adequately address core issues such as the status of Jerusalem, the right of return for Palestinian refugees, and the borders of a future Palestinian state. The lack of progress on these critical matters has left many Palestinians feeling disillusioned and betrayed, as the accords did not lead to the promised peace or statehood.

Internal Divisions

The implementation of the Oslo Accords has also contributed to internal divisions among Palestinians. The PA, seen by some as a collaborator with Israel, has faced criticism from various factions, including Hamas. This division has weakened the Palestinian political landscape, making it more challenging to present a united front in negotiations with Israel and the international community.

Increased Violence and Instability

The period following the signing of the Oslo Accords saw a rise in violence, including the Second Intifada, which erupted in 2000. Many Palestinians felt that the accords had not brought about the expected peace and security, leading to frustration and unrest. The violence further entrenched the cycle of conflict, making it even more difficult to achieve a lasting resolution.

Economic Challenges

The limited autonomy granted by the Oslo Accords has also resulted in economic challenges for Palestinians. The restrictions imposed by Israel on movement and trade have hindered economic growth and development in the West Bank and Gaza Strip. The reliance on international aid has created a precarious economic situation, leaving many Palestinians in poverty and without sustainable livelihoods.

Conclusion

In summary, while the Oslo Accords were initially seen as a hopeful step towards peace, they have presented numerous disadvantages for the Palestinian people. The limited sovereignty, continued Israeli control, failure to resolve core issues, internal divisions, increased violence, and economic challenges have all contributed to a sense of disillusionment among Palestinians. By officially recognizing the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO), Israel sought to legitimize its existence in the eyes of the international community. Additionally, the accords enhance Israels security cooperation with the Arab world. The process also opened up opportunities for economic collaboration for Israel, creating a more favourable environment for Israeli interests in the long term. The Oslo Accords paved the way for subsequent peace agreements with other Arab nations, including: Jordan in 1994, Egypt (previously in 1979), and more recently, the UAE and Bahrain in 2020 under the Abraham Accords.

A new report by Human Rights Watch has found an Israeli strike on southern Lebanon that killed three journalists in October, was most likely deliberate and a war crime.

The report also says Israeli occupational forces used US arms in the attack on the southern town of Hasbaiyya.

It targeted a compound where dozens of journalists were staying, and reporting on hostilities between Israeli occupational forces and Hezbollah.

The attack killed Lebanese journalists Ghassan Najjar, Mohammad Reda and Wissam Kassem.

Richard Weir is Senior Crisis, Conflict, and Arms Researcher at Human Rights Watch and he says the attack is a “terrible mark” on Israel and the United States.

Countries That Could Arrest Israeli PM Netanyahu Following ICC Warrants - Ghosts of Palestine

On November 21, 2024, the International Criminal Court (ICC) issued arrest warrants for Benjamin Netanyahu and Yoav Gallant on charges of war crimes and crimes against humanity related to the ongoing conflict in Gaza. This development has significant implications for Netanyahu's ability to travel internationally, as he could be arrested in any country that is a member of the ICC.

Why Countries Are Bound to Arrest

The ICC operates under the principle of complementarity, meaning that it can only prosecute cases when national courts are unwilling or unable to do so. As a result, member states of the ICC are legally obligated to enforce arrest warrants issued by the court. This obligation stems from the Rome Statute, the treaty that established the ICC, which mandates that member states cooperate with the court in its investigations and prosecutions.

Countries that are members of the ICC must comply with the arrest warrants, which means they are required to detain individuals like Netanyahu and Gallant if they enter their territory. This legal framework is designed to ensure accountability for serious crimes, including war crimes and crimes against humanity.

Why Netanyahu Cannot Travel Freely

Given the ICC's arrest warrants, Netanyahu faces significant risks when traveling abroad. If he visits any ICC member state, he could be detained and extradited to The Hague to face charges. This situation severely limits his international mobility and complicates diplomatic engagements.

Countries That Could Arrest Netanyahu

While there are 123 member states of the ICC, some notable countries where Netanyahu could potentially be arrested include:

- European Union Countries: Many EU nations, such as France, Germany, and Italy, are ICC members and would be obligated to enforce the arrest warrant.
- African Nations: Countries like South Africa and Kenya have previously shown willingness to arrest individuals under ICC warrants.
- Latin American Countries: Nations such as Argentina and Brazil are also ICC members and could act on the warrants.
- Asian Countries: Some ICC member states in Asia, like Japan and the Philippines, could similarly enforce the warrants.

The arrest warrants have significant implications not only for their international travel but also for Israel's trading relationships and arms deals. The ICC's actions create a complex legal environment that could deter countries from engaging in trade or military cooperation with Israel.

War crimes and crimes against humanity by the ICC, Netanyahu could face lengthy prison sentences, potentially to life imprisonment.

Conclusion

The issuance of arrest warrants by the ICC for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Defence Minister Yoav Gallant poses a significant challenge for their international travel. The legal obligations of ICC member states to enforce these warrants mean that Netanyahu could face arrest in numerous countries, severely limiting his ability to engage in diplomatic activities abroad.

New pre-trial judge at ICC issues arrest warrants for Israeli war criminals.

The Court just issued three arrest warrants for Israeli war criminal Benjamin Netanyahu and war criminal Yoav Gallant for crimes against humanity.

There had been some serious delays. There were a lot of questions about whether the ICC was capable of doing so.

Israel has tried to avoid this by filing all kinds of complaints, but the ICC has now decided to reject these.

There is a new presiding judge of the pre-trial chamber that was issuing these warrants. The previous presiding judge recently stepped down after informing the court about a medical issue after months of investigating the case.

Very quickly after the previous judge stepped down, this decision has now been taken.

Israelis are now facing the repercussions of the International Criminal Court (ICC) as the violence in Gaza persists. Over recent months, Israel has made efforts to undermine the ICC's credibility, challenging its jurisdiction and mobilizing political support to counter any potential rulings.

However, the current situation in Gaza has brought these issues to the forefront. The conflict has now extended for 410 days, resulting in the deaths of over 41,000 Palestinians. According to international legal authorities, including the ICC, war riminal Benjamin Netanyahu and war criminal Yoav Gallant are expected to be held accountable for their actions.

More on the ICC’s arrest warrants for Netanyahu and Gallant

As we reported earlier, the International Criminal Court (ICC) has issued arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Defence Minister Yoav Gallant.

“The Chamber issued warrants of arrest for two individuals, Mr Benjamin Netanyahu and Mr Yoav Gallant, for crimes against humanity and war crimes committed from at least 8 October 2023 until at least 20 May 2024”, a statement from the court said.

There are “reasonable grounds” to believe that Gallant and Netanyahu “intentionally and knowingly deprived the civilian population in Gaza of objects indispensable to their survival, including food, water, and medicine and medical supplies, as well as fuel and electricity”, the statement continued, covering only part of the allegations against them.

The court also rejected two Israeli challenges to its jurisdiction, saying “the acceptance by Israel of the Court’s jurisdiction is not required, as the Court can exercise its jurisdiction on the basis of territorial jurisdiction of Palestine”.

We will bring you more on this shortly.

Your Phone as a Spy - Ghosts of Ps

In an age where our smartphones are integral to our daily lives, investigative journalists Ghosts of Palestine pulls back the curtain on a chilling reality: your phone could potentially be used to spy on you. In his groundbreaking documentary, "Surveilled," Farrow explores the dark underbelly of commercial spyware, revealing how these technologies can invade our privacy and compromise our security.

The Rise of Spyware

Farrow’s documentary delves into the evolution of spyware, tracing its roots from government surveillance programs to the hands of private entities. He highlights how certain companies, often based in tech hubs like Tel Aviv, have developed sophisticated software that can infiltrate smartphones, turning them into tools for covert surveillance. This software can access everything from text messages to camera feeds, all without the user's consent or knowledge.

Numerous spyware software programs have been discovered, posing serious threats to privacy. Ten notable examples include Pegasus, Spyera, FlexiSPY, mSpy, Cocospy, Xnspy, Highster Mobile, TheTruthSpy, iKeyMonitor, and Hoverwatch. These tools can monitor calls, track locations, record conversations, and access messages, often without the user's knowledge.

Real-World Implications

Throughout the documentary, Farrow shares harrowing accounts of individuals and activists who have fallen victim to this technology. From journalists in oppressive regimes to private citizens caught in the crosshairs of corporate espionage, the implications are vast and deeply concerning. The film showcases how this technology can be weaponized, leading to harassment, intimidation, and a complete erosion of personal privacy.

The Mechanics of Surveillance

Farrow explains the mechanics behind this invasive technology, detailing how spyware can be discreetly installed on devices through seemingly innocuous means—such as phishing emails or malicious links. Once installed, the software can operate undetected, providing real-time access to a user’s personal information and activities. This insidious nature of spyware raises pressing questions about security and consent in our digital lives.

Calls for Awareness and Regulation

A significant theme of "Surveilled" is the urgent need for public awareness regarding the potential threats posed by smartphone surveillance. Farrow argues that as technology evolves, so too must our understanding of privacy and security. He advocates for stricter regulations regarding the development and use of spyware, emphasizing the need for accountability among tech companies and governments.

Conclusion

A wake-up call for a society increasingly reliant on technology. By exposing the vulnerabilities inherent in our smartphones, "Surveilled" urges viewers to reconsider the extent of their digital privacy—and what it means to live in a world where our devices can easily become instruments of surveillance. As we navigate this new landscape, Farrow’s insights serve as a crucial reminder of the importance of vigilance, advocacy, and the ongoing fight for personal privacy in the digital age.

Shadia Abu Ghazaleh, who was the first female martyr of Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine

Shadia Abu Ghazaleh was born in Nablus on January 8, 1948, and educated in Nablus. She joined George Habash’s Arab Nationalist Movement as a young woman in 1964 in pursuit of the liberation of Palestine.

The tenacity and death-defying courage in the life of Shadia Abu Ghazaleh is an illustration of the resistance and relentless spirit of Palestinian women. Abu Ghazaleh studied at Ein Shams University in Cairo before returning to Nablus following the occupation of the West Bank in the 1967 six day war. There, she joined a local branch of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine becoming one of the original members after the organisation was founded in 1967.h (The PFLP was founded on December 11, 1967 from the Arab Nationalist Movement).

Abu Ghazaleh organised and led women’s military units and was one of the first Palestinian women to participate in military resistance after the 1967 occupation. She was also deeply devoted to education and political struggle, treating it as an integral part of revolution. She had firm conviction in collective and organised work and emphasised the role of culture, politics, and strategy in directing armed struggle. She knitted together and led women’s military units and wash one of the first Palestinian women to participate in military resistance after the 1967 occupation. Shadia Abu Ghazaleh succumbed on November 28, 1968, as she prepared a bomb in her home for a military operation against the occupation.

She became the first female martyr of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine.

Today, her name is permanently embedded in the annals as a struggler, a pioneering women leader, and a fighter in the history of the Palestinian people and the people of the world. Her spirit still shimmers, like an inextinguishable flame. She manifested what distinguished a revolutionary from an ordinary person. People like her have to be reborn when Zionism is posing the most mortal threat to mankind .Her spark still shimmers to plant seeds for new lotuses to bloom to liberate the Palestinian people. Today, in times of greater adversity, it is all the more challenging a task to confront the poisonous weeds or enemy.

Two schools have been named in her memory: the Shadia Abu Ghazaleh School for Girls in Gaza and the Shadia Abu Ghazaleh High School for Boys in Jabalia.

Women have long been in the vanguard of this century of resistance, flinging rocks at tanks in the ‘intifada’ uprisings, forming groups like the Palestinian Federation of Women’s Action Committee, commandeering commercial planes like Leila Khaled and Therese Halasa, slapping soldiers like Ahed Tamimi after her cousin was shot by Israeli forces. The decades long struggle of the Palestinian liberation poses a challenge not only Israel occupation and racism, but British imperialist ambitions to divide, exploit and occupy the Middle East.

The International Criminal Court (ICC) has recently replaced a judge who was part of the panel considering an arrest warrant for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Romanian judge Iulia Motoc requested to be replaced due to health reasons and was succeeded by Beti Hohler, a Slovenian judge who was elected to the ICC last year. This change is expected to further delay the decision regarding the arrest warrants that have been sought by ICC Chief Prosecutor Karim Khan for Netanyahu and other officials over alleged war crimes related to the ongoing conflict in Gaza.

⚡️According to the indictment and a complaint also unsealed since early 2023, the Anonymous Sudan team and their customers have used the group’s Distributed Cloud Attack Tool (DCAT) to conduct destructive DDoS attacks and publicly claim credit for them. In approximately one year of operation, Anonymous Sudan’s DDoS tool was used to launch over 35,000 DDoS attacks, including at least 70 targeting computers in the greater Los Angeles area.

Attacks include sensitive government and critical infrastructure targets within the United States and around the world, including the Department of Justice, the Department of Defense, the FBI, the State Department, Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, and government websites for the state of Alabama. Victims also included major U.S. technology platforms, including Microsoft Corp. and Riot Games Inc., and network service providers. The attacks resulted in reported network outages affecting thousands of customers.

Anonymous Sudan’s DDoS attacks, which at times lasted several days, caused damage to the victims’ websites and networks, often rendering them inaccessible or inoperable, resulting in significant damages. For example, Anonymous Sudan’s DDoS attacks shuttered the emergency department at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, causing incoming patients to be redirected to other medical facilities for approximately eight hours. Anonymous Sudan’s attacks have caused more than $10 million in damages to U.S.
