The seventh week of our testnet is came to a close, and we are excited to share what we’ve accomplished and what’s ahead.

We started small, initially opening the testnet exclusively to our OG Jellies. Your enthusiasm and feedback inspired us to expand and launch the public version, which was a tremendous success! The incredible demand presented challenges, such as managing token distribution, defending against bot attacks, handling high gas fees, and ensuring our smart contracts remained stable under heavy pressure. We even forked Mutinynet and set up our own node infrastructure to meet our community's needs.
To make this journey smoother, we introduced a special community role Support Jelly and assembled a fantastic team of supporters. These rockstars worked tirelessly to keep everything running and help participants navigate challenges.

The results speak for themselves:
Over 740,000 wallets created
11.5+ million transactions

We couldn’t have achieved this without you!

But this is just the beginning. We’re taking a two-week break to upgrade our infrastructure and prepare for the next testnet phase. We can't share much now, but expect significant changes on all fronts, from our wallet to infrastructure! The next phase will also feature a more extensive campaign with incredible partnerships to elevate this to the next level.

While we prepare, we’ve organized plenty of activities to keep you engaged. And remember, the all-time leaderboard isn’t closed yet—many rewards are still waiting to be claimed, and surprises are on the way!

First, we want to congratulate all of you on a significant milestone we recently achieved:
We've now surpassed 6,000,000 transactions and have over 400,000 wallets on our network!
Our Discord community has grown to over 200,000 members, and more than 300,000 people are following us on X.

This achievement belongs to you, our beloved community, and we can't thank you enough! Such impressive figures reflect the strong demand for our technology and promise a large user base at launch.

Secondly, based on insights from the past two weeks, we learned that while the cohort system has helped prevent congestion in the network, it also created some perceptions of unfairness among members due to various limitations and technical challenges. Therefore, we have decided to eliminate the cohort system effective immediately! Here's what you can expect and how to make adjustments:
1. Simply open your wallet and start swapping! If you still encounter cohort limitations, please restart your browser and extension.
2. Our Portal Quests platform will revert to the original quest structure, incorporating Daily and Weekly bonuses.
3. We recognize that some swaps may fail due to infrastructure challenges, so we will now account for failed swaps as well.

As for the two-week leaderboard results from the previous period, there was a minor miscalculation that led to incorrect data from the first week. We need to wait for the corrected data, along with the data from the recently concluded week. As we approach the holidays and the New Year, it may take us some time to compile these results. Please stay tuned for updates!

We have an important announcement to share today.

First and foremost, a huge thank you to all our community members who have contributed to achieving a level of success beyond anything we could have imagined! This testnet has powerfully demonstrated the impact of community-driven products and the significant demand for a seamless, fast, non-custodial swap experience across blockchains.

We initially prepared our Aurelia testnet for a few thousand participants. However, we were overwhelmed by a sudden influx of over 150,000 users. This unexpected growth challenged every part of the ETH and BTC testnet infrastructure, something we can’t control. Bitcoin testnets faltered, Lightning channels exceeded mainnet capacities, and Sepolia fees skyrocketed as we endeavored to maintain normal operations. We pushed everything to its limits!

Please note that these issues would not occur on the main net, as users will interact with mainnet BTC and ETH, which is much more scalable.

To ensure stability, gather actionable insights, and maintain a high-quality user experience, we are introducing a phased onboarding process, the 7-Day Activity Cohorts. This approach limits activity to specific user groups to prevent congestion and ensure everyone enjoys a smooth experience. It will allow us to optimize resource allocation, refine our scaling strategies, and guarantee the reliability and performance our community deserves.

This new system is already live and has been implemented along with our other fixes in extension version 0.0.17. ⁠

We will be updating our Portal Quests Platform shortly to align with this new testing protocol.
