The Tom Demark (TD) Sequential has given a sell signal for Bitcoin after the asset broke past the $71,000 level in the past day.
As explained by analyst Ali Martinez in a new post on X, a TD Sequential signal has appeared in the 1-hour price of Bitcoin. The “TD Sequential” refers to an indicator in technical analysis (TA) that’s generally used for locating probable points of reversal in any commodity’s price.
The TD Sequential involves two phases: setup and countdown. During the first of these, candles of the same polarity (that is, whether red or green) are counted to nine. After these nine candles are in, the asset may be assumed to have encountered a turnaround.

Bitcoin has surged 2.9% in the last 24 hours, reaching a high of $71,166 on Binance today, marking the highest price since May 21. This rally appears to be primarily fueled by robust inflows into US spot Bitcoin ETFs, with the sector experiencing its 16th consecutive day of net inflows.
Yesterday alone, these ETFs saw an inflow of $886.6 million, with Fidelity leading at $378.7 million—setting a new record for the fund. BlackRock wasn’t far behind, with substantial inflows totaling $274.4 million. Other significant contributions included Ark with $138.7 million, Bitwise at $61 million, and the Grayscale Bitcoin and VanEck Bitcoin Trust recording $28.2 million and $4 million respectively.

Binance will limit the availability of “unregulated stablecoins” in the EU by June 30, aligning with the upcoming Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation (MiCA), according to a statement released on June 3.
The crypto exchange indicated that several stablecoins might not comply with the new regulations and will face restrictions. However, it did not specify which stablecoins would be affected.
The European Union’s MiCA legislation is expected to be fully operational by the end of 2024, and stablecoin regulations will be enacted this month.
Under these new rules, only Electronic Money Institutions (EMIs) and credit institutions can issue stablecoins, aligning with the existing EU Electronic Money Directive (EMD). Major crypto exchanges like Kraken and OKX are working to comply with these regulations, which may include removing Tether’s USDT stablecoin from their platforms.
