4728. Explanation

A) β€’ Book states: β€œFor immunizing children over 12 years of
age and adults, the preparation of choice is dT, which is
adult type of diphtheria tetanus vaccine”
β€’ This preparation contains no more than 2 L of diphtheria
toxoid per dose, as compared to 25 L in the ordinary
DPT vaccine.
β€’ Administration of dT vaccine to adults is carried out in
2 doses at an interval of 4–6 weeks, followed by booster
6–12 months after second dose.

4731. Explanation

A) β€’ In NST, continuous electronic monitoring of fetal heart rate with fetal movements are noted.
β€’ There is an observed association of FHR acceleration with fetal movements, which when present, indicates a healthy fetus.
β€’ It can reliably be used as a screening test.
β€’ The FHR accelerations associated with fetal movements is basically reflex mediated.
β€’ It should be noted that the test is valuable to identify the
fetal wellness rather than illness.
Interpretation
β€’ Reactive (Reassuring)–two or more accelerations of
more than 15 beats per minute which lasts for 15 seconds
or more in a 20 minute observation.
β€’ Non-reactive (Non-reassuring)–Absence of any fetal
reactivity.
Contraction stress test (CST) is based to observe the
response of the fetus at risk for utero placental insufficiency
in relation to uterine contractions.
