The Timberwolves’ defense is quite strong and reliable in single coverage, especially on the perimeter, so I don’t expect a high hit rate or a significant number of potential assists for Jokic.

Last season, the Timberwolves allowed the third-fewest assists overall. This season, although it’s a small sample, they currently allow the second-fewest assists over their first four games.

Last season, Jokic went under this assist line in 8 out of 11 (73%) matchups against the Timberwolves, with two overs just barely reaching 9 assists.

It’s also worth noting that last season, Jokic recorded his lowest number of potential assists specifically against Minnesota.

The Nuggets have looked rough to start this season, and we can’t expect their shooting percentages to be high, especially at one of the toughest away game in the league.

Horford is shooting with high accuracy from the perimeter at the start of this season, but I expect a bit of shooting regression in this away game in Indiana.

In the first four games, Horford has shot 10/16 (65%) from the perimeter, which is quite an outlier considering he shot 42% from three-point range last season.

Of course, these percentages will undoubtedly decrease as the season progresses, but this simply isn’t a favorable spot for Horford.

Horford is taking the majority of his shots, in percentage 79% of them coming from the perimeter this season.

The Pacers allowed the lowest three-point shooting percentage in the league last season, and despite a slow start this year, their perimeter defense remains elite and at a similar level.

The Celtics have heavily relied on perimeter shooting at the start of this season, so I expect slightly reduced usage for Horford in this tough away game in Indiana, caused, of course, by their defensive scheme.

If we filter for matches where Embiid was out, we find that Maxey was under in 22 out of 26 (85%) games.

Potential assists will likely be at a solid level due to a huge usage rate, however, the absence of Embiid and George is crucial, and it’s not realistic to expect exceptionally high percentages from the rest of the roster.

If we look at the second half of the season, after the Olympic break, Alanna has gone under in 15 out of 20 (75%) games!

For those who don’t follow the WNBA, this is the decisive game for the title, and Liberty is the host.
