I got three questions from a subscriber yesterday…

1. Do I need to use storytelling in all 30 types of emails you shared with us?

2. Does storytelling have a powerful impact on a reader’s psychology when it comes to buying products?

3. AI is growing and making writing easier if used correctly. Will email copywriting eventually die?

Here are my answers:

1. No.

Not all my emails contain stories, and you don’t need to use storytelling in every email.

2. Yes.

Storytelling is one of the easiest ways to bypass people’s natural objections. 

That’s why it’s highly recommended and why I teach and use it.

3. No.

AI won’t completely replace copywriting or email copywriting.

AI is just a tool. 

Many businesses won’t abandon their core work to focus on marketing or writing emails.

 A chiropractor won’t stop treating patients just because AI can generate copy. 

He’ll still hire marketing experts and copywriters.

AI might impact those with mediocre copywriting skills, but it won’t kill the field entirely. 

In fact, you can’t use AI effectively without understanding good copywriting principles. 

That’s why you should keep developing your copy skills, even if you use AI.

When NOT to Write Story Emails

"You don’t have to write story-based emails EVERY day or every time."

There are many other types of emails you can write.

In the same way, a copywriter has different tools to get results.

Like a chisel, a story or story-based email,  is just one tool in a copywriter’s arsenal.

Use it when you need to.
Guess what?

Most people are scared of writing story-based emails because they think this kind of email must contain a long story.
That’s not true.

In reality, the story could be just one sentence or one paragraph.

Case in point…

The first four lines of this email is a story.

And that’s less than 20% of this email.

What Copywriting Clients HATE

Today, I spoke with someone who wants to develop his email copywriting skills.

So, I sent him a link to the Short Copy Mastery course.

"Will this show me EXACTLY how to get clients?" he asked.

Since he was a complete beginner, I knew his question was premature.

So, I asked him…

"If I show you exactly how to get clients and you get clients, do you have the skills to deliver results?"

He got my point and replied, "So this course will teach me how to write amazing emails?"

"Yes," I said.

Here’s the thing…

I see many beginners make this same mistake.

They focus on getting clients before developing their skills.

Because of this, they lack confidence, and when they do land clients, they struggle to deliver.

Some even damage their reputation by delivering bad results.

One newbie I know was rejected by a potential client simply because his portfolio was terrible.

The lesson here is simple…

Develop your skills first.

I’m not saying you need to be Gary Halbert before looking for clients.

But you should be good enough to get results.
