Dear Catgirl Community,

We hope this message finds you well. We are writing to inform you about a recent security incident that occurred on our Discord server. We take your privacy and the security of our community very seriously, and we want to provide you with all the necessary information regarding the situation and the steps we are taking to address it.

Timeline of Events:
Around 12:30 PM, an unauthorized individual initiated a malicious attack on our Discord server. By 12:40 PM, our vigilant team detected the attempt and immediately sprang into action. By 12:50 PM, we successfully contained the situation, disabling and banning the compromised Rie account and taking measures to eliminate any potential backdoors that the hacker may have created.

What Happened:
Our Discord server experienced a security breach where an unauthorized individual gained access to server permissions. The hacker maliciously added a bot named Rie, which was used to send a harmful link. Unfortunately, during the breach, the original Rie account was deleted from the server, allowing the hacker to continue their malicious activity for a short period. In response, we took immediate action to remove the compromised Rie account, eliminate any potential backdoors that the hacker may have created, and secure our server.

Our Response:
To address the situation, both Rie and I worked collaboratively to swiftly disable and ban the compromised Rie account in accordance with Discord’s Terms of Service. Additionally, we have adjusted our announcement procedures moving forward. All official announcements will now be made under Ember’s account to enhance security and prevent similar incidents.

Damage Control Measures:
We sincerely empathize with the concern and inconvenience that this incident may have caused. If you are among the users affected by this situation, please reach out to us. We are committed to exploring every possible avenue to assist you.

We want to assure you that the security of our community is our top priority. We are implementing additional measures to fortify our server’s defences and prevent future security breaches. Your trust is of utmost importance to us, and we are dedicated to regaining it through transparency, accountability, and improved security practices.
