Out of all the speakers, we were, of course, most excited about Vitalik’s presentation. His ideas always set the direction for Web3 development, and today’s speech was no exception. Let’s break down what Vitalik talked about and how it aligns with what the Gydde team is working on.

The Web3 Problem:

Currently, there are two of the most popular paths for using Web3:

1. Managing your own wallet. You install an app, like 🦊, write down the secret phrase, and take full responsibility for keeping it safe. However, if you lose the phrase, access to your assets is gone forever. We experienced this ourselves: due to a technical error, the secret phrase for a new wallet wasn’t saved, and we lost access to $8,000. This is a risk that users aren’t always willing to take.

2. Centralized solutions. Yes, this option seems easier, but in reality, your money doesn’t truly belong to you. It can be blocked or stolen. Full decentralization is lost here, which means it’s no longer true Web3.

Once you've created a wallet, a new question arises: what’s next? You need funds for gas, liquidity for operations, and that’s where difficulties begin. Bridges, selecting the right wrapped assets, different protocols—all of this complicates the Web3 experience. It’s no surprise that many users get lost in these processes.

User Abstraction: The Solution

Do you know what happens behind the scenes when you send money through a banking app using a phone number? Users don’t need to understand those details to use the service. The same should apply to Web3.

User abstraction means that complex processes are hidden behind a simple, user-friendly interface. Users don’t need to know how blockchain, wallets, or bridges work in order to interact with a product. The simpler it is, the more people will be able to use these technologies without the fear of mistakes or losses.

Our Goal

Our team’s goal is to make using Web3 so simple that even your grandmother could send cryptocurrency with one click. Want to earn passive income on your USDT with around 12% annual yield? No problem. Want to create your own meme token and trade it with friends? Easy. All of this is just one click away, with full decentralization. We don’t have access to users' funds and guarantee the security of their assets.

Web3 doesn’t have to be complicated. At Gydde, we believe the future lies in simplicity and ease of use, while maintaining full decentralization.

В этот раз помимо основного ивента организовано более 800 приватных мероприятий. Попасть на все просто нереально, и разорваться невозможно 🤯

Понедельник начался с вечеринки Secret Room от MorphL2, а затем OKX x BeraChain 🐻⛓️

Bera — это некст-ген, а вечеринка проходила в одном из самых топовых клубов. На ивент зарегистрировалось 10 тысяч человек при вместимости всего 1500. Мы приезжаем за 40 минут до начала и сразу видим очередь, которая, петляя, протягивается через весь этаж. Понимаем, что сможем попасть внутрь только под закрытие.

За час до этого мы с Ксеней стоим у дверей Secret Room, общаемся между собой. Вдруг в разговор врывается Кирилл, как мы уже потом узнали 😂 Он тоже ехал на Bera, и мы решили отправиться вместе.

Возвращаемся к очереди. Кирилл пишет организатору, с которой познакомился в лифте отеля, и через 10 минут мы уже идем без очереди по VIP-коридору 😂

Вся эта череда необычных событий напомнила нам, как важно оказаться в нужном месте в нужное время.

Day One ☝️

This time, in addition to the main event, over 800 private events have been organized. It's simply impossible to attend all of them, and you can't be in multiple places at once 🤯

Monday began with the Secret Room party by MorphL2, followed by OKX x BeraChain 🐻⛓️

Bera is next-gen, and the party was held in one of the top clubs. 10,000 people registered for the event, but the venue capacity was only 1,500. We arrive 40 minutes before the start and immediately see a queue snaking through the entire floor. We realize we'll only be able to get in just before closing.

An hour before this, Xena and I are standing at the doors of the Secret Room, chatting. Suddenly, Kirill jumps into our conversation, as we later found out 😂 He was also heading to Bera, so we decided to go together.

Back to the queue. Kirill messages an organizer he met in the hotel elevator, and 10 minutes later we're walking through the VIP corridor, bypassing the line 😂
This series of unusual events reminded us how important it is to be in the right place at the right time.

Так вот, вернемся к тому моменту, где у меня подкосились ноги. Я беру телефон и вижу, что получила приглашение на сайд-ивент, и не от кого-то там, а от BD MetaMask на их закрытое мероприятие MetaMask Spotlight: Building Onchain, где собрался весь топ-менеджмент MetaMask и Consensys! Только от них было более 80 человек на мероприятии - можете представить себе масштаб события!

Само мероприятие было в основном посвящено запуску новой технологии MetaMask - Delegator. Если очень кратко, то новая фича позволит создавать кошельки новым пользователям без необходимости установки приложения MetaMask. Для особо пытливых приложу ссылку ниже.

И знаете, что это? Это именно то, что поможет нам соединить пользователей Telegram и DeFi! Я понимаю, вы скажете, что в Telegram уже есть кошелек. И тут у меня есть большое НО - в Telegram есть TON кошелек, Telegram Open Network, это 700 млн долларов ликвидности (криптовалют), которыми вы можете пользоваться, и всего 35 приложений, тогда как экосистема эфира содержит 90 миллиардов(!) долларов ликвидности и тысячи(!) приложений.

So, let's get back to the moment where my legs started shaking. I pick up my phone and see that I've received an invitation to a side event, not from just anyone, but from the BD of MetaMask for their exclusive event, MetaMask Spotlight: Building Onchain, where the entire top management of MetaMask and Consensys gathered! There were more than 80 people just from their companies at the event - you can imagine the scale of this event!

The event was mainly dedicated to the launch of MetaMask's new technology - Delegator. In short, this new feature will allow new users to create wallets without the need to install the MetaMask app. For those who are curious, I'll attach a link in the description.

And you know what? This is exactly what will help us connect Telegram users and DeFi! I understand you might say that there's already a wallet in Telegram. And here I have a big BUT - Telegram has the TON wallet, Telegram Open Network, which holds 700 million dollars in liquidity (cryptocurrency) that you can use, and only 35 applications, while the Ethereum ecosystem contains 90 billion(!) dollars in liquidity and thousands(!) of applications.

But the best part is that as a result, I managed to get Gydde adopted by the entire top management of MetaMask and Consensys! I can't disclose the result of the meeting yet, as it would breach ethics, but I can hint that we have gained a very influential patron.

День первый Bitcoin Shark Tank

Немного предыстории, все началось с того, что наши хорошие партнеры и друзья из BOB (Build on Bitcoin) предоставили нам возможность выступить с Gydde на Bitcoin Shark Tank в ethCC. Мы были безмерно счастливы и благодарны команде BOB за предоставленную площадку. Всю ночь мы с Богданом и нашим дизайнером дорабатывали наш pitch deck.

Утро первого дня. Я только проснулась и уже мчусь в такси, параллельно тренируя спич с Богданом по телефону. Приезжаю за 10 минут до начала. Мое выступление — в конце, по времени все тип-топ. Спокойно захожу в лифт, крашу губы, делаю глубокий вдох и выхожу. Тут же вижу Zhixi — главу по развитию DeFi в BOB. Она подбегает ко мне, говорит, что они уже заканчивают, и это последняя возможность сделать питч. Хватает меня за руку и ведет на сцену прямо к Дерреку. Всего 40 секунд прошло с момента, когда я вышла из такси, до того, как я сказала: "Hi, I’m Xena, co-founder of Gydde" на сцене перед 20 VCs на Shark Tank.

И тут все началось. Это была мой первый питч за всю жизнь, после которого ко мне сразу подошли менеджеры VCs обменяться контактами. Вы можете в это поверить? Не я бегала с щенячьими глазками, пытаясь показать всем свою презентацию, а представители фондов стояли в очереди, расспрашивали меня и сразу проверяли, как работает наш Gydde. На тот момент это уже была минутка гордости за наш продукт и нашу команду. И тут начался ливень, больше похожий на Ниагарский водопад, но я была настолько заряжена энергией, что была готова доплыть хоть на каное до яхт-пати с VCs, еще не зная, что там меня ждет Титаник и то судьбоносное сообщение.

Day One: Bitcoin Shark Tank

A bit of background. Everything started when our good partners and friends at BOB (Build on Bitcoin) gave us the opportunity to present Gydde at Bitcoin Shark Tanks during ethCC. We were incredibly happy and grateful to the BOB team for providing this platform. All night, Bogdan, our designer, and I were refining our pitch.

The morning of the first day. I had just woken up and was already rushing in a taxi, simultaneously practicing my pitch with Bogdan over the phone. I arrived 10 minutes before the start. My presentation was at the end, so the timing was perfect. I calmly entered the elevator, applied some lipstick, took a deep breath, and stepped out. Right away, I saw Zhixi, the head of DeFi development at BOB. She ran up to me, saying they were finishing up and it was the last chance to pitch. She grabbed my hand and led me to the stage straight to Derrek, who was hosting. Only 40 seconds had passed from the moment I got out of the taxi to when I said, "Hi, I’m Xena, co-founder of Gydde" on stage in front of 20 VCs at Shark Tank.

And then it all started. This was my first pitch ever, after which VC managers immediately approached me to exchange contacts. Can you believe it? I wasn't running around with puppy eyes, trying to show everyone my presentation. Instead, fund representatives stood in line, asking me questions and immediately checking how our Gydde works. At that moment, it was a moment of pride for our product and our team. Then the rain started, more like Niagara Falls, but I was so energized that I was ready to swim to the yacht party with the VCs, not yet knowing that a Titanic-like situation and a fateful message awaited me there.

Одно из мероприятий проходило на корабле, куда должны были прийти более 20 инвесторов, но вместо этого на лодке оказались только три десятка фаундеров, газировка и крокеты. Дождь заливался на палубу, инвесторов не было видно, а от реки ужасно воняло разложениями и 💩. Какой-то гений додумался назвать эту шхуну "Титаником", но из luxury на "Титанике" были только мои одноразовые салфетки с Ибицы 😂 Дождь усиливался, и оставалось надеяться, что "Титаник" не собирается повторить судьбу своего более знаменитого тезки, когда я получаю сообщение, от которого у меня буквально подкашиваются ноги...

Day One at ethCC, or No Panic on the Titanic 🚢

A tropical rain nearly washed Brussels off the map, similar to the famous storm at Token49 in Dubai. One of the events was on a boat where more than 20 investors were supposed to come, but instead, there were just three dozen founders, soda, and croquettes. Rain was pouring onto the deck, no investors in sight, and the river smelled awful, like rot and 💩. Some genius decided to name this boat the "Titanic," but the only luxury on the "Titanic" were my wet napkins from Ibiza 😂 The rain kept getting worse, and I could only hope this "Titanic" wouldn't meet the same fate as its infamous namesake, when I received a message that made my legs shake...
