Bhagwan Birsa Munda was an Indian tribal independence activist, and folk hero who belonged to the Munda tribe.

✅He spearheaded a tribal religious millenarian movement that arose in the Bengal Presidency (now Jharkhand) in the late 19th century, during the British Raj. He blended traditional Munda beliefs with his own vision of social justice and religious renewal, sparking a movement in the late 19th century known as the "Ulgulan" or "The Great Tumult” which is also known as Munda rebellion.

✅The revolt mainly concentrated in the Munda belt of Khunti, Tamar, Sarwada and Bandgaon.

✅The cause of the Munda revolt was the 'unfair land grabbing practices by colonial and local authorities that demolished the tribal conventional land system' - Khuntkatti.

✅The Union cabinet, at a meeting held on 10 November 2021, voted to observe 15 November, Birsa Munda's birth anniversary, as Janjatiya Gaurav Divas.

Sørvágsvatn Lake is the largest lake in the Faroe Islands.

🧭It is situated on the island of Vágar between the municipalities of Sørvágur and Vágar.

🗺Its area is 3.4 km2 (1.3 sq mi), more than three times the size of Fjallavatn, the second largest lake, also located on Vágar.

✈️The lake is located very close to the ocean, but its surface is about 40 m (130 ft) above the level of the sea.

❤️It is surrounded by a higher cliff which prevents it from emptying fully into the ocean, the waterfall Bøsdalafossur being the outlet.

Gen Upendra Dwivedi, Chief of Army Staff met the oldest PVC awardee alive, Capt (Hon.) Bana Singh at R&R Hospital Delhi.

As a Naib Subedar in the Indian Army, he led the team that wrested control of the highest peak on the Siachen Glacier in Kashmir from Pakistani forces as part of Operation Rajiv. Following his success, India renamed the peak (previously designated as Quaid Post by the Pakistanis) to Bana Post in his honour.
