A crypto oracle is a service that connects blockchain smart contracts to off-chain data, enabling them to interact with the real world. Without oracles, blockchains are isolated.
Blockchains are designed to be secure and tamper-proof, but they can't directly access external data like weather, stock prices, or sports results. Oracles bridge this gap!
An oracle fetches external data from APIs or other sources, verifies its accuracy, and delivers it to the blockchain. This enables smart contracts to execute based on real-world conditions.
• Inbound Oracles: Bring real-world data to the blockchain (e.g., price feeds).
• Outbound Oracles: Send blockchain data to external systems (e.g., supply chain tracking).
• Cross-chain Oracles: Share data between different blockchains
First of all, it's not so much oracles in TON - only RedStone and Pyth. The main reason why oracles on TON are not so popular - we don't have a lot of good DeFi products on TON.
- More accurate charts on DEX's and CEX's
- Increased security and reliability
- LST tokens have to be more trustful, because they are used as confirmation of staked tokens and as DeFi part
We are proud to be one of the first liquid staking protocols on #TON and have such great partners, as RedStone!
