Using soft matrices in direct restorations

In this issue, we discuss restorations with a V-shaped proximal zone, on the upper premolar as an example. When using standard metal matrices and wedges, we often face with the problem of matrix adaptation to the tooth, which can lead to overhanging material and problems with the gingiva or periodontium. In such cases, I recommend using soft transparent matrices.

3️⃣ Detachment the periosteum from the border of the bone hole by microsurgery curet.
4️⃣ Preparation and installation cross link barrier membrane under the periosteum, covering the vestibular bone hole.
5️⃣ Insertion the bone graft and placing implant.
6️⃣ Using digital protocols to produce temporary crown.
7️⃣ After 4 month placing the permanent crown.

Implant-microsurgery flapless techniques

Type 2 of the socket with a defect of the vestibular aspect of the bone requires restoration by various surgical technique.
This case demonstrates the result of the application flapless microsurgical technique. Trans-socket access by special designed microsurgical curet for detachment of the periosteum from the border of the bone hole ensures placement of the barrier membrane to stabilise bone graft material.
