When I talk about a 20%-40% drop, I’m referring to an average scenario. Here’s the breakdown:

-BTC usually drops the least. In this case, it might see around 15%-20% (targeting $80k–$85k), though I’m not ruling out a lower wick.

-Altcoins could drop 20%-40%, with stronger ones correcting around 20%-30% and weaker ones around 30%-40%.

-Memecoins, once again, might be the most affected in this second shakeout, potentially dropping 50%-60%.

And yes, nobody wants this scenario, but it’s not about what we want—it’s about what the market gives us. Adaptation is key.

Important: The December'24 PCE report will be on 31st January.

The Fed primarily focuses on the PCE report, according to some experts.

Month-over-month (MoM) inflation has started to rise, which is why Powell shifted his tone in December, triggering a sell-off in crypto and stocks.

The next FOMC meeting is also on 31st January, so the Fed won’t have the opportunity to review and analyze the report beforehand. However, the market is likely to react immediately.

A higher PCE reading is not something the stock and crypto markets want to see.

Todays US PPI data points to easing inflationary pressures, with Core PPI flat at 0.0% (vs. 0.2% forecast) and headline PPI rising 0.2% (vs. 0.4% expected).

This could signal a similar trend for upcoming CPI data, as lower producer costs often trickle down to consumers. Softer CPI would reinforce the narrative of cooling inflation, potentially influencing the Federal Reserve to maintain a dovish stance.

While this reduces the likelihood of further rate hikes, interest rate cuts remain uncertain. The Fed has adopted a “higher for longer” policy, but sustained lower inflation and signs of economic slowdown could pave the way for cuts later in 2024.

For Bitcoin, easing inflation and reduced rate hike expectations are bullish, as they weaken the dollar and boost demand for risk assets. However, broader market sentiment and labor market data will play a crucial role in shaping the Fed’s next move.
