We've reclaimed our X account! The account was briefly compromised earlier today. The phishing links and tweets were flagged and taken down soon after thanks to our vigilant team and community, and within 2 hrs we locked the account with help from BrainChainLLC. We regained control within 6 hours and then conducted security audits. We are also taking additional steps to make sure of our social media account safety.

🕒 Duration-based
~Cap-3 will run for 1,000 BTC blocks (roughly one week)
~Stay tuned! The exact block heights will be announced 3 days ahead of the opening.

💼 New limits
~Minimum stake per transaction: 0.005 BTC
~Maximum stake per transaction: Increased to 5,000 BTC

🚨 Pioneering innovation in point allocation
~First 300 BTC blocks: 100,000 points per block.
~Remaining 700 BTC blocks and beyond: 21,000 points per block.
~The points per BTC block will be allocated proportionally among all active stakes (from all caps) within that block.

🤝 Unbonding Transaction Fees

4 weeks to go!

Following the successful Phase-1 Cap-2 (1.2) mainnet launch in early Oct with 24K bitcoin staked, Cap-3 (1.3) will likely happen in early Dec. The cap will continue to enable broad participation and low transaction fee with longer staking time window and higher per stake limit.

Around a similar timeframe, in preparation for the Phase-2 mainnet (2.0), the Phase-2 testnet will be open, where Babylon PoS test chain will be activated to accept Signet bitcoin staking.

This testnet will enable both the transition of existing Phase-1 Signet stakes to Phase-2, and the creation of fresh Signet stakes for Phase-2.

🔸TL;DR: Important update — For Babylon Bitcoin staking mainnet Phase-1 Cap-2, the maximum staking amount per Bitcoin staking transaction will be 500 BTC instead of 0.5 BTC. Please see the updated post here.

🔸The community expressed concerns that the previously announced 0.5 BTC stake limit could result in unnecessarily high Bitcoin tx fees (including staking tx, unbonding tx, and withdrawal tx fees). Additionally, splitting UTXOs is a hassle for many stakers.

🔸This increase will help lower the total tx fees by reducing the number of transactions. It will also lessen the pressure to enter Cap-2, which would otherwise drive up the staking tx fees.

🔸The staking amount remains under your control. However, please consider staking small and cautiously.

💼 Limits for Cap-2:
🔸Minimum stake per transaction: 0.005 BTC
🔸Maximum stake per transaction: Increased to 0.5 BTC
