Good idea: chaos gardening

https://www.ecowatch.com/chaos-gardening-guide-ecowatch.html

Chaos gardening is a laid-back (and haphazard) approach to gardening, built on the notion that you can garden without expensive tools or extensive know-how, and that embracing the unexpected and unplanned can yield beautiful and bountiful results.

My partner has an X marker on all govt ID. It sounds like travel out of, or even within the US may lead to ver being detained.

🚨BREAKING🚨
I've heard multiple reports that the secretary of state has demanded that the state department deny passports requesting an X marker, and any changes to gender markers, confiscating the documentation with the application as well. This echoes similar action by several state Drivers License & Birt Certificate offices in the past year.

The most i have seen about this comes from a Guardian article, a lot of my most trusted orgs haven't reported on this yet. It seems there may be some uncertainty on the extent & specifics of this, a variety of claims are made in these posts. For now it is probably safest to not start any new passport applications with gender changes, and people with X markers may want to exercise caution around travelling internationally.

Johnathan Greenblatt, head of the ADL, has publicly compared a Palestinian kiffiyeh scarf to a swastika. He's attacked X for harboring 'Antisemitism'.. In response Elon threatened to sue the ADL out of existence.

Now, the ADL is running heavy damage control defending Musk. Why? Because they never gave a shit about Jews, they only exist to defend Israel. This isn't really news to any lefties, especially leftist Jews -- but it's a useful example for demonstrating the ADL's manipulation tactics to others.

birds have so many. air

It is important not to hold birds too tightly, or upside-down, or even on their backs. This affects their ability to breathe and can cause them to pass out. Birds do not have diaphragms and will constantly move breathe.

Wild crows engage in gift exchange with humans who feed them - not mere conditioning, but complex social behavior involving evaluation and reciprocity. These relationships often span generations, suggesting sophisticated social structures that challenge our assumptions about transactional relationships. This natural example of mutual aid and relationship-building shows how intelligence and community care go hand in hand.

Wood heating is carbon neutral y'all, at least the way I do it. This is pretty much all well-seasoned softwoods that fell across roads or were cleared by firefighters and otherwise destined for mulching.

It's also really cozy to make breakfast on. It started at 40F in the living room but the heat is extreme directly in front of it. I'm only wearing an apron and right now I'm trying not to sweat πŸ˜…

Cozy times.

Taking a leading role for a family is hard, but worthwhile. In the past week we've made salt dough ornaments, loads of colorful sugar cookies, written cards, shared a lot of good food at the table, watched corny movies, and I've given a lot of presents to people I know are flat broke.

It's 4:00 AM and I'm going to go rekindle some embers in the wood stove so it's nice and warm.

Merry Christmas and Happy Chanukah y'all!

Those two don't happen on the same day very often.

And to the Satanists that do celebrate on the 25th of each year, Hail the Unconquered Sun!

Yule tidings to all the pagan/druid folks!

And Happy Holidays to everyone else!

And don't watch the news.

Flatly, we are not going to have an answer as to who won the election tonight. It is just not going to happen.

Stress checking the polling stats is only going to make your night worse.

Spend time with people you care about. Do something you enjoy.

Avoid alcohol. It will only make you feel worse, trust me.

Did y'all know that geese are vegetarian, and prefer grass over other types of plants? They sometimes eat invertebrates and small fish, but if they can get by grazing they will. They'd be great help weeding veggie gardens.
