When the game changed.

For the first three years I made almost no money from our bot. It just so happened that I didn't advertise and therefore all expenses were completely on me. I was the only person and worked for you. As a result, I know every bit of code written for you.

I always wondered why the Common Man had to fumble around in code, create databases, pay for servers to create his bot?
It was very complicated.

Why didn't anyone think of creating a bot with one button?
That's how I created our bot builder. Absolutely any user can create a Shazam bot for free.

And because of that there was a real explosion of popularity.
We started to grow very fast. The bot creators started to make money by selling ads in their bots and told me that I could do the same.

I built in mandatory subscriptions to sponsor channels and added ads.

The Shazam bot revenue graph jumped up, we started earning 6 figs of $ amount.

I am a bit uncomfortable talking about earnings, but nevertheless despite a good income from the bot, I do not buy myself houses, cars, watches.
Nothing has changed in my lifestyle. Moreover, I still work in the same company.

Not because I get paid a lot, but because I just love it.
I wish everyone had the opportunity to do what they want to do. To live the life they want to live.

For me, Telegram bots were a turning point in my life.
And now I would like to give everyone the opportunity to start making money in the Telegram bot market. I realized that I want to share this income with you. With those who supported us all this time, that's why we launched a program to make money on TG bots.

And yes, as I wrote above from each paid advertisement we will now share with you.
But as always there is a certain nuance. I will tell you about it later.

How did i bought shazambot from a Cuban for 30$?

I started shazambot 4 years ago. A lot has changed in that time.

In 2021, I was finishing university (I'm partly a programmer by education), I was bored and came across a tool that allowed you to find music by its fragment, just like the famous shazam app.

I thought it would be a good idea to make a telegram bot out of it - so I did, in a couple of days.

But there was a problem...

One of the important factors in the development of any telegram bot is the nickname.

If you come up with a good nickname, people will find you by searching.

It was hard to come up with something better than @shazambot.

But naturally, that nickname was taken by a Cuban.

I wrote to him and convinced him to sell me the nickname for $30. I don't speak Spanish so the all communication was done through google translator. This investment paid off many times over. Investing in a Telegram bot turned out to be more profitable than investing in bitcoin. It gave me almost x 10,000 to my original investment.

That's how the story of shazam began.

Then I noticed that people were frequently searching for music and decided to add music search.

After about a year, when the bot was growing at 300 people a day, I thought it would be nice to grow faster.

I had an idea.
What if we let people create their own personalized shazambot?

This is how the bot builder came into being: users create their own clones, develop them independently and get paid for it.

The idea worked. From a technical point of view, it was a nightmare. A car on fire that doesn't break down only when it's not being used, and it was always being used.

I literally went everywhere with a laptop to be able to promptly fix the next breakdown.

Thankfully, that's in the past. Now, 4 years later, the system is stabilized, but I still have the habit of carrying my laptop with me.

Amazingly, 4 years ago I could never have imagined that today we would have almost 5 000 000 monthly users. We've recognized and sent over BILLION songs to you.

And you've built 56 039 bots on our Shazambot Builder.

I'm happy to have succeeded in making a product that people actually use.

I spent the last year trying to figure out exactly where to take our project.

I realized that Shazambot is not just a platform for recognizing and listening to music.

At the end of 2024, I started developing monetization so that every user could earn money with our bot.

But that's not all.
There will be many updates throughout 2025. Stay tuned

The database has been updated: it now runs on a more powerful server to handle the growing number of users. So bots are now responding faster.

The database is being upgraded, it’ll take around an hour or so, maybe less.

Just improved the performance of the /statistics command (for admins only) and now it responds instantly due to some denormalisation stuff (whatever that means). Btw as an admin you can use your bot without ads, just simply create it here @GenesisCreatorBot. We're preparing some cool stuff for bot creators, so stay tuned.

By the way, Instagram recently implemented a new type of link with "/share/", so it didn't work in bots, but since I fixed it yesterday, it should work, check it out.

Once again, the way music is downloaded has been fixed. A lot of people complained that the music could not be saved to their music folder, so I found out that the problem was that a lot of music had no format in its name. So I've added a new button "⚠️ 🔄" that adds the extension to the music, so feel free to use it if you're having trouble downloading songs. Just one more button bro and I promise we'll fix the downloading...

Just implemented an integration with a new lyrics source, so more music now has lyrics and the lyrics are now more accurate.

So far, so good. A week without incident.💪
