  ➼ 'Vijaya Rahatkar' has been appointed as the Chairperson of the National Commission for Women . The Ministry of Women and Child Development has issued a notification in this regard.
‘विजया रहाटकर’ (Vijaya Rahatkar) को राष्ट्रीय महिला आयोग का अध्यक्ष नियुक्त किया गया है। महिला और बाल विकास मंत्रालय ने इस संबंध में अधिसूचना जारी की है।

  ➼ Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate projects worth Rs 1,300 crore in Varanasi on October 20.
प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी 20 अक्टूबर को वाराणसी में 1,300 करोड़ की परियोजनाओं का उद्घाटन करेंगे।

  ➼ The 'Railway Protection Force' (RPF) will participate in a half marathon in Delhi on October 20. Its purpose is to raise awareness against child trafficking.

  ➼  Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be on a two-day visit to Russia on October 22 to attend the  16th BRICS Summit ( BRICS Summit 2024).
प्रधानमंत्री ‘नरेंद्र मोदी’ ‘16वें ब्रिक्स शिखर सम्मेलन’(BRICS Summit 2024) में भाग लेने के लिए 22 अक्टूबर को रूस की दो दिवसीय यात्रा पर होंगे।

  ➼  Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan will inaugurate  the ' National Rabi Krishi Sammelan 2024' on October 19 in New Delhi.
कृषि और किसान कल्याण मंत्री शिवराज सिंह चौहान 19 अक्टूबर को नई दिल्ली में ‘राष्ट्रीय रबी कृषि सम्मेलन 2024’ का उद्घाटन करेंगे।

  ➼  Civil Aviation Minister Kinjarapu Ram Mohan Naidu on October 18 unveiled the 'Aviation Park' in the ministry premises. The park presents a picturesque view of models of aircraft.
नागरिक उड्डयन मंत्री किंजरापु राम मोहन नायडू ने 18 अक्टूबर को मंत्रालय परिसर में ‘एविएशन पार्क’ का अनावरण किया है। इस पार्क में विमानों के मॉडल का एक सुरम्‍य दृश्‍य प्रस्‍तुत है।

  ➼  The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has released a consultation paper on regulatory framework for broadcasters.
‘भारतीय दूरसंचार नियामक प्राधिकरण’ (TRAI) ने प्रसारणकर्ताओं के लिए नियामक प्रारूप पर परामर्श पत्र जारी किया है।

  ➼  The Central Government has extended the last date for the ' National Scholarship Portal' for meritorious students for the year 2024-25 till 31st October.
केंद्र सरकार ने वर्ष 2024-25 के लिए मेधावी छात्रों के ‘राष्‍ट्रीय छात्रवृत्ति पोर्टल’ की अंतिम तिथि 31 अक्टूबर तक बढ़ा दी है।

  ➼ According to a report by the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), around 41.7 million people in Bangladesh are living in extreme poverty and six and a half percent of them are in a miserable condition.
संयुक्‍त राष्‍ट्र विकास कार्यक्रम(UNDP) की एक रिपोर्ट के अनुसार बांग्‍लादेश में लगभग चार करोड़ 17 लाख लोग बेहद गरीबी में जी रहे हैं और इनमें से साढे छह प्रतिशत लोग बदहाल स्थिति में हैं।

  ➼  In the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha has appointed  National Conference MLA ' Mubarak Gul' as the pro tem speaker of the new assembly.
केंद्र शासित प्रदेश जम्मू-कश्मीर में उपराज्यपाल मनोज सिन्हा ने नेशनल कॉन्फ्रेंस के विधायक ‘मुबारक गुल’ (Mubarak Gul) को नई विधानसभा का प्रोटेम स्पीकर नियुक्त किया है।

  ➼  ' PV Sindhu' was defeated by Gregoria Mariska Tunjung of Indonesia 21-13, 16-21, 21-9 in the women's singles quarter-finals of the 'Denmark Open Badminton' .
‘डेनमार्क ओपन बैडमिंटन’ में महिला सिंगल्‍स के क्‍वार्टर फाइनल में ‘पीवी सिंधु’ को इंडोनेशिया की ग्रेगोरिया मारिस्‍का तुनजुंग ने 21-13, 16-21, 21-9 से हराया है।

  ➼  Union Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar inaugurated the second edition of  the art exhibition 'Silent Conversations: From Margins to the Centre' in New Delhi on 18 October.
