Anacardium Vs nux vomica

Anacardium although a great remedy for dyspepsia is much neglected. Nux vom. is used in great many cases where Anacardium should be thought of. Such a mistake is due to great similarity between the two remedies.

In both of them we notice ineffectual desire for stool. In Nux it is due to an irregularity of peristalsis whereas under Anacardium it is the effect of a paralytic condition of the rectum.
Further in Anacardium this desire for stool is produced by a sense of a lump or a plug in anus, which he tries to get rid of. These two remedies differ in the fact that the Anacardium patient is almost always better after eating, where-as Nux is always worse after eating.
