🔍Neurobiologists from Princeton University spent four years processing electron microscopy images of the fly brain slices. The map covers 140,000 neurons and includes 54.5 million connections between them.

⏳Artificial intelligence assisted in decoding the images. Researchers compare the process to recognizing satellite images of Earth—AI can identify rivers and roads but cannot accurately name them. As a result, they had to spend many hours manually verifying the data.
