فَطُوبَى لِلْغُرَبَاءِ

Imām Ibn al-Qayyim رحمه الله said:

“Drink patience, for if it kills you, you'd die a martyr, and if it spares you, it'll leave you strong.”

Abu Talhah رضي الله عنه reported:

The Prophet ﷺ said:

“The angels do not enter a house in which there is a dog, nor an image in a likeness.”

Abu Talhah رضي الله عنه said:

“The Prophet(ﷺ) means by likeness an image of living souls.”

Ibn al-Jawzī said :

قال ابن الجوزي : ﻭﺭُﺏَّ زوَاجٍ ﺣﺪَﺙَ ﻣﻨﻪ ﻭﻟﺪٌ ﻣﺜﻞ ﺍﻟﺸﺎﻓﻌﻲ ﻭﺃﺣﻤﺪ ﺑﻦ ﺣﻨﺒﻞ ؛ ﻓﻜﺎﻥَ ﺧﻴﺮﺍً ﻣﻦ ﻋﺒﺎﺩﺓ ﺃﻟﻒ ﺳﻨﺔ

Perhaps a marriage might result in a child like Ash-Shāfi'i or Ahmad ibn Hanbal; such an outcome would be better than a thousand years of worship.

Shaykh al-Islām Ibn Taymīyyah رحمه الله said:

"Whoever thinks that he can take from the Book and the Sunnah, without taking the Companions as an example and follows other than their path, then he is from the people of innovation."

عَنْ أَوْسِ بْنِ أَوْسٍ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:

"إِنَّ مِنْ أَفْضَلِ أَيَّامِكُمْ يَوْمَ الْجُمُعَةِ فِيهِ خُلِقَ آدَمُ وَفِيهِ قُبِضَ وَفِيهِ النَّفْخَةُ وَفِيهِ الصَّعْقَةُ فَأَكْثِرُوا عَلَيَّ مِنْ الصَّلَاةِ فِيهِ فَإِنَّ صَلَاتَكُمْ مَعْرُوضَةٌ عَلَيَّ"

Aws ibn Aws reported:

The Messenger of Allāh ﷺ said:

“Verily, the best of your days is Friday. Ādam was created on it, on it he died, on it the trumpet will be blown, and on it the shout will be made. Thus, send blessings upon me often, for your blessings are presented to me.”

“When Friday arrives, angels are over the door of every mosque to record those who arrive one by one. When the Imam sits to begin, they close their scrolls and come to listen to the reminder. The parable of one who comes early is that of one who offers a fine camel, the next like one who offers a cow, the next like one who offers a ram, the next like one who offers a chicken, the next like one who offers an egg.”

Jumu'ah:

Imām ‎Ibn al-Qayyim رحمه الله said:

‎"Friday is the day of worship, its comparison to other days like the comparison of the month of Ramadan to other months and the hour in it is like the Night of Decree in Ramadan."

عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ مَنْ قَرَأَ سُورَةَ الْكَهْفِ فِي يَوْمِ الْجُمُعَةِ أَضَاءَ لَهُ مِنَ النُّورِ مَا بَيْنَ الْجُمُعَتَيْنِ

Abu Sa’id al-Khudri رضي الله عنه reported the Prophet ﷺ said:

“Whoever recites Surat al-Kahf on Friday, a light will shine for him between this Friday and the next.”

عَنْ أَنَسٍ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَكْثِرُوا الصَّلَاةَ عَلَىَّ يَوْمَ الْجُمُعَةِ وَلَيْلَةَ الْجُمُعَةِ فَمَنْ صَلَّى عَلَىَّ صَلَاةً صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ عَشْرًا

5854 السنن الكبرى كتاب الجمعة ومن جماع أبواب الهيئة للجمعة باب ما يؤمر به في ليلة الجمعة ويومها

Anas رضي الله عنه reported:

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, “Increase your supplications for me on the day and night of Friday. Whoever blesses me once, Allah will bless him ten times.”

📚: al-Sunan al-Kubra‌ 5854

Narrated by Jaabir ibn ‘Abdillah رضي الله عنه who said:

The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said:

“The day of Friday has twelve hours, in which there is no Muslim slave who asks Allah for anything but He will grant it to him, so seek it in the last hour after ‘Asr.”

📚:Reported by Abu Dawood (1048) and an-Nasaa’i (1389); classed as saheeh by an-Nawawi in al-Majmoo‘, 4/471

The Prophet ﷺ said:

"There is such an hour on Friday, that if any Muslim makes Du’ā during it, his Du’ā will be accepted."

📚:صحيح البخاري ٥٢٩٥، صحيح مسلم ٨٥٢

Imām Ibn al-Qayyim رحمه الله said:

“A time when Du’ās will be accepted is during the last hour of ‘Asr on Jumu’ah.”

Narrated Salman Al-Farsi: Allah’s Apostle (ﷺ) said,

“Anyone who takes a bath on Friday and cleans himself as much as he can and puts oil (on his hair) or scents himself; and then proceeds for the prayer and does not force his way between two persons (assembled in the mosque for the Friday prayer), and prays as much as is written for him and remains quiet when the Imam delivers the Khutba, all his sins in between the present and the last Friday will be forgiven.”

Imām  Ibn al-Qayyim رحمه الله said:

"The Friday prayer is from the greatest of congregations of the Muslims."

عَنْ أَوْسِ بْنِ أَوْسٍ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: “مَنِ اغْتَسَلَ يَوْمَ الْجُمُعَةِ وَغَسَّلَ وَبَكَّرَ وَابْتَكَرَ وَدَنَا وَاسْتَمَعَ وَأَنْصَتَ كَانَ لَهُ بِكُلِّ خَطْوَةٍ يَخْطُوهَا أَجْرُ سَنَةٍ صِيَامُهَا وَقِيَامُهَا”
496 سنن الترمذي كتاب الجمعة باب ما جاء في فضل الغسل يوم الجمعة

Aws ibn Aws reported: The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said:

“Whoever performs a thorough ritual bath on Friday, proceeds at the earliest to the mosque, sits below the Imam and listens carefully without talking, he will have a reward for each step he took a year’s worth of fasting and praying.”

📚:Sunan al-Tirmidhi‌ 496

عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: إِذَا كَانَ يَوْمُ الْجُمُعَةِ كَانَ عَلَى كُلِّ بَابٍ مِنْ أَبْوَابِ الْمَسْجِدِ مَلَائِكَةٌ يَكْتُبُونَ الْأَوَّلَ فَالْأَوَّلَ فَإِذَا جَلَسَ الْإِمَامُ طَوَوْا الصُّحُفَ وَجَاءُوا يَسْتَمِعُونَ الذِّكْرَ وَمَثَلُ الْمُهَجِّرِ كَمَثَلِ الَّذِي يُهْدِي الْبَدَنَةَ ثُمَّ كَالَّذِي يُهْدِي بَقَرَةً ثُمَّ كَالَّذِي يُهْدِي الْكَبْشَ ثُمَّ كَالَّذِي يُهْدِي الدَّجَاجَةَ ثُمَّ كَالَّذِي يُهْدِي الْبَيْضَةَ

Abu Huraira reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said:

Al-Hasan Al-Basrī رحمه الله:

"Joking too much takes away one's manhood."

📚:المجالسة وجواهر العلم ٣٣٣/٢

Imām Abū Bakr ibn Isḥāq ibn Khuzaymah (d.311 - رحمه الله) said:

“Whoever does not affirm that Allāh is above His ʿArsh (Throne), above the seven heavens; then he is a Kāfir in Him (Allāh) and his blood is permissible [to shed]. He must be made to repent, otherwise his neck is to be struck and thrown in the garbage dump.”

عن أبي هريرة عن النبي ﷺ قال ‏:

"من مات ولم يغز ولم يحدث نفسه بغزو مات على شعبة نفاق"

Abu Hurayrah narrated that the Prophet ﷺ said:

"Whoever dies without having fought in battle, nor having thought of fighting, dies on a branch of nifāq [hypocrisy]."

📚:سنن النسائي

Imām Ibn al-Qayyim رحمه الله said:

"There is no regulation in Sharia except that it contains wisdom, although many or even most of the people do not understand it."

📚:Zaad al-Ma'ad 5/59

Imām Ibn al-Qayyim رحمه الله said:

"Following desires and prolonged hope are the ingredients of every corruption; because following desires blinds (one) from the truth in knowledge and intent. And prolonged hope (makes one) forget the afterlife and hinders from making preparations for it."

It was said to Ḥasan al-Baṣrī:

“O Abū Sa’īd who of all people will be screaming the most on the Day of Judgement (from Torment of Allāh)?”

He replied:

“A man who has been blessed with a bounty (from Allāh) and he uses it to disobey Allāh.”

📚:الدنيا ظل زائل

Shaykh Al-Islām Ibn Taymīyyah رحمه الله said:

"Whoever would love to reach the rank of the righteous and to resemble the best (people) then let him intend to benefit the creation for each day that the sun rises."

📚:Al-Imān Al-Awsat

Imām Ibn al-Qayyim رحمه الله said:

“A sign of defective repentance is continued dryness of the eyes and heedlessness, and that one fails to practice new righteous deeds that he did not do before.”

📚:Madārij as-Sālikīn

Imām Ibn Al-Qayyim رحمه الله said:

“O you who spends his lifetime in disobeying his Lord!

No one amongst your enemies is wicked to you more than you are to yourself.”

ﺇﺫﺍ ﺭﺃﻳﺖ ﺃﺻﺤﺎﺑﻚ
“If you see that your friends:

ﻳﺪﻟﻮﻧﻚ ﻋﻠﻰ ﺍﻟﺨﻴﺮ
guide you to acts of goodness,

ﻭﻳﻌﻴﻨﻮﻧﻚ ﻋﻠﻴﻪ،
assist you in doing them,

ﻭﺇﺫﺍ ﻧﺴﻴﺖ ﺫﻛﺮﻭﻙ،
remind you if you forget,

ﻭﺇﺫﺍ ﺟﻬﻠﺖ ﻋﻠﻤﻮﻙ،
and teach you if you don’t know,

ﻓﺎﺳﺘﻤﺴﻚ ﺑﺤﺠﺰﻫﻢ ﻭﻋﺾّ ﻋﻠﻴﻬﻢ ﺑﺎﻟﻨﻮﺍﺟﺬ.
hold on to them tightly.”
