The event aimed to strengthen community ties and enhance public understanding of water management issues.
The session commenced with a warm welcome from the Sibu Water Board officials, who set the stage for an engaging and informative discussion. The first topic addressed was the critical importance of water conservation and anti-vandalism initiatives. Residents learned about various strategies they could implement to conserve water in their daily lives, alongside efforts to protect water infrastructure from vandalism, which can disrupt service delivery and waste valuable resources.
Following this, the Secretary Accountant introduced the innovative smart metering pilot program being implemented in Sibu Jaya. Throughout the event, residents actively participated, sharing their concerns, suggestions, and ideas. This open forum fostered a spirit of collaboration and empowerment, emphasizing that community input is vital to effective water management.
As the program concluded, attendees left with a renewed sense of connection and purpose, equipped with practical knowledge on conservation practices and the benefits of the new metering system.
