I am reaching out to share about postdoc opportunities in my lab at NTU Singapore (#9 in QS Rankings in Computer Science), where we’re pushing the boundaries of cloud computing and AI systems. We’re on the lookout for early career researchers or senior PhD students on track for graduation in 2025, who are ready to take on challenges in serverless computing and large-scale LLM inference serving systems.
Here is what we are excited about (currently, there are two postdoc positions open, but we might open more soon):
1. Fast & Efficient Serverless Computing Systems: We are working on scheduling technologies, distributed control plane architecture, and virtualization, innovating across the entire serverless stack (OS, networking, computer architecture).
2. LLM Inference Serving Systems: Our focus is on GPU and other heterogeneous hardware management in a cluster, LLM state management, and ML-system co-design for intelligent scheduling and resource management.
An ideal candidate should have substantial expertise in computer systems or computer architecture and have student supervision and teamwork experience.
For exceptional candidates, we can support an application (with our funding) for the prestigious Research Assistant Professorship (RAP) scheme at NTU, targeting top-tier early career researchers within four years of their PhD. The scheme may simplify the applicants’ track to a tenure-track position at NTU.
About us: Dmitrii works at the intersection of computer systems and architecture. His work received an ASPLOS’21 Distinguished Artifact Award and IEEE MICRO TopPicks 2023. Dmitrii and his open-source work was recognized with 35 Innovators Under 35 (Asia-Pacific) 2024 by MIT Technology Review. In both research directions mentioned above, we collaborate with the top researchers from the leading semiconductor and cloud companies, including AMD, MS Azure, and AWS, and top US and UK universities. We love open source and prioritise high-impact reproducible system prototypes along with top-tier conference publications, e.g., OSDI and ASPLOS. Our team is highly international: 6 PhD students and a postdoc from Italy, Korea, Russia, and China. Postdoc salary range is very competitive (one can expect much more disposable income than a postdoc in the USA).
