At work the other day, my boomer boss and a boomer contractor he had come in to do some work for him sat down to have a coffee while I was at lunch. The two of them started bitching about "this generation of workers". I've shut my boss up many times on the topic so I didn't engage, but merely listened to their conversation. Naturally they were typical boomer talking points: "the kids we come through have no motivation, they want you to hold their hand with everything, they want too much money for what they're worth..." etc."
I honestly can't blame any 20 year old coming into the labour market if they aren't motivated. What tangible life goal can they work towards? Hoeflation has made women's expectations insane, houses are frankly unaffordable, and I could continue forever on a miariad of other points. What on earth does the average person under 40 have to strive for at the moment?
