Woman empowerment

Women empowerment means empowering women to thrive in every field irrespective of gender. They must be given equal rights and in no way should woman feel inferior to men. The role of a woman should not be limited to child caring. An empowered woman can equally contribute to nation building.

Women face many challenges when they try to break stereotypes. They are perceived less capable than men. At many a place either they are sexually exploited or fear of such exploitation haunts them all the way. Various parameters indicate that people do not invest much in girl child. Many of them don’t complete their education. They get married at early age and left with the responsibility of home making and child caring. They grow up facing discrimination everywhere; at homes, workplaces or in public. They lack political representation. They have not got their place in armed forces too until recently. Many men think that women are not fit for every job that men do.

However things are not bleak at all. People nowadays better understand the value of empowering women. Things have changed gradually though it is just a beginning. People have started investing in girl child. Rate of female foeticide has decreased across the country. Women are getting their due place in politics through reservations at various levels. They are now eligible for almost every post in armed forces. Though slowly, empowerment of women is on the way.

We must understand that without empowering women, we are an incomplete society. Only women empowerment can make us complete. A nation can’t be great leaving their half of the population behind. Man and woman are needed to grow together.
