*Maldives is an island country in South Asia, located on a group of atolls south of the Hindustan Peninsula at the junction of the Arabian and Laccadive Seas of the Indian Ocean.
- there is only one city in the Maldives - it is the capital of the country, Male;
- there are no poisonous snakes or insects dangerous to humans;
- there is no ground public transport;
- damage to coastal corals in the Maldives is subject to a heavy fine. It is forbidden to export corals from the islands;
- there are seven species of sea turtles in the world, five of which live in the Maldives;
- There is no alcohol outside the hotels in the Maldives.
