2 Israeli soldiers were killed during fighting in the northern Gaza Strip earlier today.

Staff Sgt. Ofir Berkovich, 20, from Modi'i

Sgt. Elishai Young, 19, from Dimona.

Both served with the 401st Armored Brigade's 52nd Battalion.

We bow our heads in respect for these heroes who were killed defending the Jewish Homeland against Hamas-ISIS.

May their memory forever be a blessing and may God Comfort their families.

Captain Elad Siman Tov, aged 23, from Tzofim, a Platoon Commander from the Golani Reconnaissance Unit.

Staff Sergeant Elyashiv Eitan Wieder, aged 22, from Jerusalem, a Squad Commander from the Golani Reconnaissance Unit.

Staff Sergeant Yakov Hillel, aged 21, from Jerusalem, a soldier from the Golani Reconnaissance Unit.

Staff Sergeant Yehudah Dror Yahalom, aged 21, from Hebron, a soldier from the Golani Reconnaissance Unit.

Following a security assessment, National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir orders the reinforcement of police forces across the country in the wake of the elimination of Hamas chief Yahya Sinwar, his office says.

In addition, the Prison Service is instructed “to act with a strong hand against any case of disturbances and expressions of support for terror organizations by imprisoned terrorists,” a spokesperson for Ben Gvir adds.

“The State of Israel has brought justice with the elimination of Yahya Sinwar – a vile murderer and terrorist. Yahya Sinwar is the terrorist, the master terrorist, who planned and carried out the October 7th [massacre], during which so many innocent Israelis were murdered – children, women and the elderly.”

“The elimination of Sinwar joins a long series of eliminations – from Nasrallah to Muhammad Deif and many more [terrorists]. We will pursue and eliminate our enemies.”

“Sinwar died while beaten, persecuted and on the run – he didn’t die as a commander, but as someone who only cared for himself. This is a clear message to all of our enemies – the IDF will reach anyone who attempts to harm the citizens of Israel or our security forces, and we will bring you to justice.”
