The families of the hostages urged U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken: "Apply more pressure on the mediating countries, especially Qatar, to restart negotiations and leverage Sinwar's elimination into a deal for releasing all hostages."

American-Israeli hostage families met this evening with U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken. During the meeting, they expressed gratitude to Blinken and the U.S. administration for their ongoing efforts to secure the release of the 101 remaining hostages.

The families urged Blinken to apply massive pressure on mediating countries, particularly Qatar, where Hamas leaders currently reside. They emphasized that Sinwar's elimination presents an opportunity to restart negotiations for the return of all hostages - the living for rehabilitation and the murdered for proper burial.

The families, including Hamas captivity survivor Aviva Siegel, whose husband Keith remains in captivity, stressed the urgent need for a deal, warning that the hostages cannot afford any further delays or foot-dragging.

U.S. Ambassador to Israel Jack Lew was also present at the meeting.

בפגישתם, הודו משפחות החטופים לבלינקן ולממשל האמריקאי על המאמצים המתמשכים שלהם למען השבת 101 החטופים.

בפגישה ביקשו המשפחות מבלינקן להפעיל לחץ מסיבי על המתווכות בכלל ועל קטאר בפרט, שם שוהים ומתגוררים כעת מנהיגי החמאס, במטרה לנצל את ההזדמנות שנוצרה עם חיסולו של סינוואר להנעה מחודשת של המשא ומתן להשבת כל החטופים - החיים לשיקום והנרצחים והחללים לקבורה ראויה.

המשפחות, ובהן שורדת השבי אביבה סיגל, הדגישו את הצורך הדחוף בעסקה כי לחטופים אין יותר זמן להתמהמהות וגרירת רגליים.

בפגישה נכח גם ג׳ק לו, שגריר ארה״ב בישראל.

Sukkot 2023
Look how joyful the families were, gathered together to celebrate and rejoice.
The sukkah isn’t very big, so everyone sits shoulder to shoulder, singing, laughing, praying, and enjoying the feast.
At this point, they are naïve to what is about to happen on October 7th.

Most of the sukkahs were burned to the ground, and those that remain standing depict the void and devastation left after the massacre and abductions.
